USAGPAN Army CRNA FY24

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hey there..I'm posting this thread seeing who else is applying for the FY24' June start with the Army USAGPAN. I've applied before and know the rigors of the application, the back and fourth paperwork between the recruiter, endless forms, and signatures. I'm retaking an undergraduate class and a graduate science course per the boards recommendation.

Best of luck to everyone.

Hey there @MikeyD! Thank you for the advice! I've seen people recommend Good Notes as well. Do you know what differences they have?

Not a clue unfortunately

Question if anyone is able to help; I'll be Direct Accession and when we do BOLC after DCC will we need to find housing before BOLC starts since San Antonio is our duty station?

Typically you report to fort Sam, and obtain housing etc before going to DCC. You have like a week before DCC. If you have questions about how long you can be in a hotel at government expense (meaning reimbursement) ask your POC at usagpan (not Jana). I would recommend you collect your questions about the timeline and ask those so you can figure it out. Most things are reimbursed like your gas mileage at a certain rate to drive to San Antonio, hotels at a standard rate etc. you won't get those funds for quite a while but you do get money to move.

Thanks for the info; how is the process of living on post if you know MikeyD? Like is there a pretty long wait list or if we should just try to find a place off post if it's easier to obtain housing? I'll be moving with my wife and 4 kids 8,7,5,3

Honestly I tried to get on post at fort Sam but It's pretty high demand. I would contact the housing office once you have orders if you want to live on post. It's certainly convenient since it's close to school. They can hopefully give you an idea if they have anything coming open. Just Google fort Sam houston housing office and it'll come up

@MikeyD this information is so helpful; thank you. My recruiter said they would bus us to DCC and we wouldn't have our cars with us. Is that true? I had been wondering how we would move from our current homes to DCC without cars and then to San Antonio for BOLC so your timeframe makes more sense.  @32SoulPatrolRN I'm in the same boat as you!

You will either fly there or you can just carpool a group of folks and drive. I believe you just park your car for the month and leave it.

Hello all!
Already applied and had my interview at Fort Hood. Intense experience but validated my goals to enter and finish the program. I did my physical at Fort Sill. My AMEDD recruiter is sending my scroll up next week. Now just a waiting game.

Hi DFraizer,

How was your interview like, I will do my interview in March at Fort Hood. Trying to be prepared. Any specific questions they asked?
