Hello,
I have done High School (12th Std) from India. I am interested in getting admission in Associate degree in Nursing (RN) in USA. I have inquired to one community college in USA and according to them, I will be able to get admission.
I heard that USA embassy does not give visa for associate degree. Is it true?
I am 17 years old. College is ready to give admission. In USA embassy, is there any rule for age to get student visa.
Thanks In advance.

What you need to be aware of even if you get your RN whether ADN or BSN you will be affected by retrogression and will find it hard to stay in the US and wait for a immigrant visa (this is saying that retrogression is still ongoing and with current job economics in the US take this as a high possibility) If you meet requirements for student visa you have a chance of one being given however the final decision is with the embassy officer. We have had nurses that trained in the US get ADN and meet immigrant requirements however that was a few years ago
Thanks a lot for fast replying.
I already got admission for Associate RN in one community college.
But consultants are saying that Embassy does not giving visa for Associate degree.
Is there any Age restrictions for getting Student visa because i m 17.
read this site, Student Visas
You will more than likely have to show proof of funds and that you can support yourself, due to age may have to show proof on where you will live and who will help you. Also what are you going to do once you get your ADN because if you have to leave the US, which is generally accepted when using a student visa, are you going to be able to work?
Thanks for reply..
My parents are sponsoring me for my study. And they have enough funds.
Many Thanks for the site!!!!!!!
That answered my 17 year age problem.
You are gr8.

Why not go for a BSN, most colleges provide housing and it would give you time of mature.

I agree with Medsurg, you might want to consider a BSN degree. If an ADN degree is accepted in your home country then go for it. If it wont be accepted then go for your BSN, you may have to return home after you finish your studies and it would be pointless for you to have an ADN if you wont be able to work as a RN back home. Good Luck
