Dear all, I'm an American RN with Perioperative Certificate was wondering about employment opportunities in S. Arabia. I lived in Dubai with my family in 2006 and I would say I love it. I have contacted many agencies here in USA and Canada but was turned down. As per agency's policy RN must have BSN degree which I do not have currently. I'm trying to find my way around to be hired by Saudi hospitals. I would be grateful if anybody can tell me how to get a job and what is visa requirements. I'm assuming I need a working visa in S. Arabia?

I think if you're an American you would need a sponsor.

With us Filipinos, we get our working visa from our employer tru an agency in the Philippines. Before they also hire directly, but nowadays, the employers want that the applicants go first to their partner agency/ agencies. We can't just apply to any hospitals and get hired even if we are already in the kingdom with the right qualifications. The employer would still instruct us to exit first from our present employee, go back to the Philippines, apply to the agency and work for them with a new working visa and iqama.

And yes, we were also required to have a BSN degree. All Filipino nurses who came here as a nurse have a BSN degree. I'm just not sure how it is with Americans. They have different rules for different nationalities.

Hope this helps :)

Helen Ziegler & Associates has many position in Saudi Arabia for RN's. You need 2 years of current nursing experience, no BSN required. Iam going with them to KSA next week. I hope this helps.
