  1. Thanks for your responses, guys! :) May I know the brand of steth you own? :)
  2. Hi! Just wanted to know if nurses in Australia bring/ use their own stethoscopes at work? Thanks :)
  3. I have received a LOE from AHPRA that will expire on July 22, 2014... With the change that is going to occur in AHPRA, you think I will have to re-apply for registration?
  4. hi guys! I am for May 2014 intake at Deakin University. Anyone taking their BP there too? Also my IELTS will expire March 2015, do you recommend that I take another IELTS before coming over to Australia? Because they said IELTS will be needed in the subsequent visas... ? Just a bit anxious... Actually I also have other issues to sort out- 1. My case officer hasn't given me an extension for my Letter of Eligibility , even after several emails of request. My agent has also tried talking to her, but until now, she doesn't grant my request. The BP at Deakin ends on August 9 and my LOE expires on July 22, 2013. I was just requesting for a few days extension. I am hoping that when I arrive there, Deakin will help me in getting the extension. But I hope I do get the extension before deployment so i'll have less stress! 2. I'm not sure if my vaccinations are okay already. I believe mine is up to date because the vaccinations also are also required in my current hospital. I'm just not sure if the details I have will be enough. Is it enough that I have the booklet of my vaccinations? Do i still need details like the vaccination batch number.. ? My friend who went to INHA said that I will still need those. But my agent said that in Deakin, the other students just attached their vaccination documents. 3. Can i lodge my visa application as early as this month? And have my medical exam in March? the intake will be in May 2014. Thanks and I hope someone can give me an answer to my inquiries. :)) Good luck to everyone here!
  5. Hi, yes it is true.. With an American or British passport you get twice of the regular salary plus more benefits! Many Filipinos who managed to get either of those passports go back in Saudi Arabia to save money. I think its a good idea, so long as your family can live in a very conservative country.
  6. My area is Critical Care. Will that help? Thanks!
  7. You think so, aussieboynurse? Because i've been hearing that it's really tough to get a job for nurses in OZ nowadays. Yet, despite of, I still want to try my luck.
  8. My agency told me that AHPRA might phase out the bridging programs... Anyone ever heard of this? All I know is that from the link below, AHPRA is indeed going to change its rules and regulations on international qualified nurses and midwives. http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Registration-and-Endorsement/International.aspx
  9. Hi, why do you need to take the one year program? If you have experience, you can just take the bridging program instead. It will just take for about 10weeks in Deakin, and of course, that means it will incur less expenses.
  10. Hi, Actually, work experience is not a requirement of APHRA. Though you have to indicate if you have. What's important is that you are registered in your country of origin or in the countries that you have worked in for the past 5 years. However, at least a year of experience is an edge if you are to find employment in Australia. And it would be better if you practiced in a hospital setting.
  11. Hi again! Are you from RKH? I hope I could send you pm's. If you don't mind, here's my email ad- [email protected] Thanks :)
  12. Does she have any area of specialty?
  13. Hi everyone, I am in the initial process of the applying as a registered nurse in Australia. I am currently working in Saudi Arabia and I have been registered as a Nurse Technician in the Saudi Council. My questions are: 1. Does Australia accept a registered Nurse Technician? Or do I have to upgrade my title to a Nurse Specialist? 2. Do they accept the Certificate of Good Standing that says it was electronically sent? i received my Certificate of Good Standing from the Saudi Council by email and below it, it says that it was only valid if viewed or downloaded from the link they provided. Did others receive the same certificate? Hoping for a reply and help... Thank you!!
  14. Hi Noveau, I was about to send you a private message but apparently, your inbox setting does not allow to receive pm's. I would like to ask if the certificate of good standing you sent to APHRA was electronically sent to you by Saudi Council? If so, was there a note below the certificate indicating that that the cert. could only be valid if downloaded on the link provided? Also, were you registered as a Nurse Technician or Nurse Specialist in KSA? Hoping for your response and help :) Thank you!
  15. I also have another question.. Do they accept nurses who are registered as Nurse Technician in Saudi Council? Hoping for a reply. Thank you.
