Hi Kenyohunt1,

Did you check off two concentrations on your application? One for the FNP and the other for the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner? I want to know if only the BSN-DNP or MSN-DNP were eligible to be accepted in more than one concentration.

Hello Wall-E

In the BSN/DNP option they have an Advanced Emergency Nursing program which gives you the ability to become FNP/AACNP certified. Not sure if this is offered in the MSN program. Did you get accepted also? I hope that you did.

I am late learning about this program and did not apply for fall, but I intend to apply for spring. For those of you who attend this fall I would be so appreciative if you would share your experiences in the program. I will apply for the emergency concentration.

Hello I am new to the allnurses.com website, so still trying to learn. But I to have applied and been accepted to start the USA DNP Program for the Fall of 2010 along with a friend of mine..

I am applying for the BSN/DNP Advanced Emergency Nursing program for Spring 2011. Any info anyone can pass along would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone could share their admission stats so I can compare to mine. (Currentely I have a 3.47 GPA, been a nurse 13 years, been an ER nurse for 9 years, am currently a charge nurse and I have my CEN along with the usual BLS, PALS, ALCS.)

I am in the first class going through the BSN/DNP Advanced Emergency Nursing track Fall 2010. We will start the end of Aug. So I will try to update you along the way. As long as you meet the minimum requirements I think you will be fine. I have heard from other students in the ACNP and FNP tracks that it is tough but doable. Now that those tracks are being combined I am sure some of the info I was given will change. I will private message you with my email address and you can contact me anytime. Also if you have Facebook search USN/DNP and you will pull up a page started by last years ACNP class. Some of your questions maybe answered there. Hope this helps you some.

Hi, I'm interested in applying to USA's dual acnp/fnp for Spring 2011. For those who applied, could you please share your stats? Years of nursing experience, GPA, etc. I'm graduating from a BSN program with a competitive GPA >3.5 with extracurricular activities, but no nursing experience yet! What are my chances? Did anyone without nursing experience get accepted? Thanks in advance!

They said emails will be going out to those accepted. Has anyone received an email about acceptance? Thanks.

Good Luck!! Many threads depict the USA program as a nightmare especially the FNP! Teachers dont teach and just dump material on you. I applied for the MSN ANP-GNP program and am awaiting to hear if I get in for January 2011. Please let me know what everyone thinks of the program especially if they are in the ANP program vs the FNP.

Thanks

I just dropped out of the ACNP program at USA. The classes were so tedious and so much reading. Way more than what I had expected and planned for. 6 chapters in the book, powerpoints and 90 study questions every 2 weeks. I feel like I just read it but did not retain or learn anything. Instructors and advisors are no help and seem like they could care less, if you finally do get a hold of one!!!! Would not recommend it. There has to be a better program out there!!
