US to Quebec: ADN the same as DCS?

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie here. I'd like to tap on those nurses who have experiences in moving from the US to Quebec, those who do credentialing for Quebec, or those who know Quebec immigration in general.

I have an Associate in Applied Sciences in Nursing from the US, and would like to immigrate to Quebec. I am confused because in the Quebec immigration form it says in the "Area of Training" as

"Nursing (DCS - 3 years)"

Upon research, I found out that an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) --- of which an Associate of Applied Sciences is considered to be --- is equivalent to a Diploma of College Studies. Is this true? An ADN is TWO years, while a DCS is THREE years. Will Quebec immigration consider my ADN as comparable to a DCS, and thus, give me 12 points in the Area of Training?

Please, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

raistlin
