Hi there!
I need any help/info I can get. I am a US citizen that came to Australia to go to nursing school. I am currently in a new graduate nurse program here in Sydney. It is now nearing the end of my first year as an RN and I decided I want to go back to the US. My question is does anyone know what States accept an Aussie nursing degree? I know Cali wants further maternity/peds training, but I am not looking to go back to Cali. I am hoping to find a State that will accept my degree and then I will be free to take the NCLEX. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :)
Sorry I'm rarely on here! Schools that accept you to fulfill your paeds/maternity requirement are listed in the letter you receive from the California State Board. Loma Linda University will put you on a waiting list and when a spot becomes available (granted you have your letter from the State Board saying you need these classes) you can join. Hope this helps.
Hi all! I am a pre-student applying to accelerated entry master's programs in california, but I was also thinking about going to nursing school in Australia and applying to the University of Sydney. They also have an accelerated nursing program and I have always wanted to move to Australia for a few years. Was it worth it to go to school there, even with all the confusion to return back to the US? Or do you recommend I just stay put if I want to work in California in the future.

Hi AlexSydCA I am now a 3rd year nursing student at ACU (in North Sydney ) I am a US citizen from California and am moving back once my student visa expires in a year. I was just wondering if you have found any information regarding this situation! Would love to chat more about the entire experience.
