US or AUS for school. I have a choice to make.

Published

Greetings:

Has anyone gone to school in AUS? Has anyone worked with other RN's who were trained in AUS? Would I be at a disadvantage if I wanted to come back to the US for an NP program?

I am a dual citizen, US and Australian. I have the choice to transfer to an Australian RN program and graduate with no student loans whereas here I have to take out loans to fund my education. I have already talked to a couple of Universites as well as friends of the family who are RN's in Australia and they are eager to see my apply. I have a 4.0 here in community college and because I'm a citizen of Australia I don't have to go through international student hoops.

Seems like an easy question to answer, but it's not. I don't know if I want to be an RN here or abroad, but I like options. I would be leaving behind my friends although I do have family in Australia.

Thanks very much!

Sarah
