US Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing (USAGPAN) FY2025

Published

Was wondering who all was applying to USAGPAN FY2025?

Has anyone recieved correspondence since acceptance letters? I really have not heard anything.

Reach out to your recruiter. You have to have a release to contract. You are either pending something to be completed before that release or they just haven't been sent yet and it's a waiting game.

Is there any new word on where the 2025 cohort will do phase 2?  I understand that everyone does phase 1 in San Antonio.  I got the impression that we move around a little bit to satisify the needs for clinical rotations to ensure proper exposure to case types.

There is always the possibility of changes but for the FY24 cohort, our sites are:

Brooke Army Medical Center, JBSA FSH, San Antonio, TX

Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Cavazos, Killeen, TX

William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, TX

Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Eisenhower, Augusta GA

Evans Army Community Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO

Madigan Army Medical Center, JBSA Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, WA

Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI

Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Liberty, Fayetteville, NC

Once you find out where you will be doing phase 2, that is where you will be for year 2 and 3 of the program. Each site also has out rotations that are designed to get you all the cases that you need. Each loacation is different as far as the location and duration of the out rotations so you may want to take that into consideration when picking your preferences. The number of out rotations played a fairly big role in my decisions because I have a wife and kids and wanted to minimize extra time away from home as much as I could.

Hello! I got an email along with the rest of us who got accepted for USAGPAN 2025 this morning. The email contains the tentative dates for DCC (February) and BOLC (March-May) 2025. It looks like there will be a 3-week break between end of BOLC and before USAGPAN Phase 1 report date.

Anybody knows if we are allowed to go out-of-state (to visit extended family) during that time? Or are we required to just stay in San Antonio the entire time? Thanks!

You can go out of state you'll just have to use leave and you'll get this more in BOLC but you would start processing that near the end of BOLC

If we weren't on leave/pass we were checking in by 0800 every Monday, Wednesday Friday for accountability, I believe for us all students had to be back in San Antonio 31 May this year

its all a blur now with how fast school seems to be going 😆

During the times that we are not in BOLC and DCC or before school, are we required to do anything? Are there ARMY duties that will have to be fulfilled?

Im not sure. Have you received your orders? Or anyone here?  Im still waiting for my security clearance  to be finalized on my part.

If you're Direct Accession you'll probably get order very late November/Early December, we got ours last week of Novemeber last year

We arrived to Fort Sam Houston about 2 weeks before DCC to do all our inprocessing such as CAC and pay so that we were all squared away before DCC, the days we weren't doing anything in person before we left it was just a virtual check in on a messaging app, so there's still time to get your family/self settled before leaving

You have to sign your contract once released to do so by health services directorate. Then await orders.

as long as their are no issues I would start brainstorming where you are going to live in San Antonio. I don't have any recommendations except probably not living far away. (I don't recommend the alcove at Alamo heights 😂) maybe others have recommendations. I wouldn't sign a lease or anything until you have your orders in hand just for peace of mind

Am I gonna be signing that contract with my local recruiter here at Phoenix? Thank you for your response!

Whoever you processed with is who you should be signing with. However if there are extenuating circumstances a different office can be facilitated if there is enough advance.
