The Ursuline College nurse anesthesia program is pending COA approval. Has anyone applied or interviewed? What are your thoughts on attending a brand new program?

I did! Did you? I already interviewed with them and just waiting to hear back now. I think there's no problem attending as long as they get approved by COA. but I do think it's a bit "risky" because we will basically be Guinea pigs as the first cohort. But I think we'll be fine as long as we have the passion and determination

Hi, I am planning on applying to that school as well. Do you mind me asking how your interview went? Was it clinical or personal? Thank you in advance.

Also curious how the interview went! I applied as well. Not going to lie, I do feel a bit uneasy about the program since there doesn't seem to be much information & it isn't accredited yet. They also waived my application fee due to my "impressive work and academic history" which I feel like might be a red flag? This whole program honestly seems too good to be true, but we will see I guess!

I heard they extended their deadline to Nov 1st

How does everyone think they did in their interview?  What are y'all's stats?

I applied & interviewed — they just got approved this week! Hoping to hear back soon.. I'm anxious to hear about how they'll decide on clinical sites. New programs are tricky because it's a ton of trial-and-error, but I think they'll pick a class of people who are able to tackle the hiccups & will be able to pass the boards at the end of it! Super excited to hear back

Wow! Good to know that they are accredited! Where did you get that information from by the way?

It's on the COA website — https://www.coacrna.org/programs-fellowships/CRNA-school-search/

But I thought the status is supposed to say "approved "instead of "initial"??

They're a new program, so they were seeking initial approval — they're able to accept students now, but will be reviewed 5 years later on for continuing accreditation.
