Which hospitals are on the Upper East Side? I have decided to bite the bullet and make the move, as soon as I find a job.
So far, most everyone that I have talked to about NYC, tell me to move to the UES - that it is clean, fun, safe and affordable. I won't have a car, so I would like to find work that is close to where I am living. I am hoping to find a hospital that treats their nurses well, that offer 12 hours shifts, and that will hire someone with 2 years of Med/Surg experience with an ADN.
Also, This summer I will be attending Marymount Manhattan for a BS in Speech Therapy. Should I tell my future employer this? I don't want them to get turned off about my getting out of the nursing field. But again, I am staying in healthcare......

Personally, I love the UES. My mom used to stay a week to 10 days in the E. 80s or 90s off of First (can't remember which), and I love visiting her.
There are a few and I'm sure that I am missing a couple, but these are off the top of my head...Mount Sinai, Lenox Hill, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Cornell Weill. Bellevue (sp?) and NYU Medical Center are on the East Side as well, but below 34th Street.
Me, I wouldn't say anything about future schooling at this point...If you want to carefully broach the subject, you could mention that you are interested in working with patients suffering from aphasia or dysphasia (i.e. strokes and trauma cases) so that if you do go ahead, it'll be a natural progression instead of wanting to leave nursing altogether.
