Has anyone taken the PSB-RN Exam for the UPMC nursing programs? I took mine today and am not sure how I did.
There was not enough time to finish the verbal, spatial, math section. I didn't think it was hard, but I only finished 52 out of 90 questions in 30 minutes. I'm worried that won't be enough regardless how many I got correct of the ones I did. Minimum score is 60th percentile, but I don't know what the average is.
I finished both the science and reading comprehension sections within the time limit and I thought both of those were fairly easy. Vocab/spelling was the most difficult, but we won't be graded on that section.

I took my test on March 17th. I was able to finish all of the sections but I thought the spelling section was KILLER. I have never heard of any of the words before. I didn't know the spelling section didn't count! Are you sure about that???
Have you taken your SAT's? I've heard that people who failed the test took their SAT's and got into the school that way.

Which school are you trying to get into? I am currently at St Margaret, so took the test 2 years ago. I know they are changing things trying to make all schools more similar, both admissions and curriculum wise. When I came in they required 65percentile in verbal/math (whatever that section was called), science, and reading......they told us spelling, and career aptitude did not have a requirement, but how we did would be looked at. Yes the spelling section was ridiculous....probably less then 10 words actually knew. I also know when I came into the program shadyside required 80 percentile in all sections, and they were required to take remediation classes before retaking the test. I am not sure if that has since changed. I know at least 2 of my classmates were in my class because of this. Also taking SAT scores is a new thing, they were not taking when i was applying
I just got my test results back from my PSB and you were right! They did not count the spelling section of the test!

@sali22,
Consider yourself lucky you can't go to Shadyside. They are capricious, dishonest and run the school on fear. Best wishes wherever you decide to go!
Thank you, i'm going to carlow for their bsn it will only take 1 year longer and I get 3 years of clinicals so I guess it worked out.
Congrats on Carlow!
Thanks!!
