Hi! Has anyone else applied to UPenn's ABSN program starting this June? I believe we hear back next month so it's getting close! I didn't see another thread started for this cohort so I was just reaching out...
@cchun
I think you are going to have a hard time finding people that are willing to reveal their statistics at this point in the game :). Grades at Penn are really just the gateway that gets you past the more in depth aspects of your character and extracurriculars. Get involved and show them who you are!
28 days until the decision! Best of luck, everyone!

Hi! I'm also applying for fall 2014...
28 days?! How did you find this out? Is this based on when they got the news last year? I'm so nervous/ anxious! I hate that it's such a waiting game at this point... There's not much else to do but wait, and ace my remaining pre-req!
@ND_Irish
Penn goes live with admissions decisions for ABSN candidates around the first week of February (I conservatively estimate Friday, Feb. 7th). This timeline is per a Penn representative and it has been my understanding since the October 15th, 2013 application deadline. There have been a few e-mails sent as well. I would check your spam folder because it would seem logical that these e-mail were sent to ALL ABSN applicants, including you :). The representative I spoke with during my interview also confirmed an early February decision date. Hope this helps!
Hi guys, congrats on the interview invites! I'm new to this thread, and had some general questions as well.1. When did you guys apply?2. Are all your prerequisites completed?3. If you don't mind me asking, what school you went to, overall gpa, prerequisite gpa?4. Working? Volunteering? I haven't gotten an interview yet and I'm just curious to see if I even have a chance haha.I remember one of you posted that you're from ucla. I also graduated undergrad from ucla in 2006 as a communications major. My overall gpa was 3.68, my major gpa was 3.89I started my prerequisites just this year in 2013 as I had no science courses completed. I think my prerequisite gpa is around 3.9 so far and I still have 3 courses left! I'm currently taking biology, phys and anatomy 2, and microbiology. It seems all very rushed, but that's because I moved to Philly and had to wait a year until I was an in state resident or else classes would have been almost triple the cost.Penn is my top choice, but I honestly think I don't have a chance cuz you all are very smart I'm sure! Just curious if I should even have a glimpse of hope haha.Thanks and I wish you guys the best luck:) hope you get in!!-Cat
@cchun
Did you apply to Penn or are you doing some recon?
Thanks @stretchyourmind,I had no idea because on the Drexel and Jefferson forums,lots of people always reveal their statistics to help others get a general view of the pool. No prob if people want to keep it to themselves as well!
Haha, yea. I think we would all love to know how we stack up to the competition. For me, the small amount of information and the lack of anecdotal evidence is really stressful. The other thread with the BSN/MSN cohort was pretty much all I had to go on to get a feel for Penn's expectations. I just went forward and gave 150% on every page that Penn required of me on my application.
