Hi! Has anyone else applied to UPenn's ABSN program starting this June? I believe we hear back next month so it's getting close! I didn't see another thread started for this cohort so I was just reaching out...
congrats handerson12! i'm in the same boat here. I was sort of set on going to Jefferson university (also local in Philly) assuming I was going to be waitlisted to Penn or something. Now that I'm accepted, I am so thankful, but also thinking about how I can afford the school since it is over $50,000 more than Jefferson. I think we find out our financial aid in about 2 weeks, so hopefully that can help us decide. Are you going to put down your deposit first or wait until the financial aid package comes out? I believe if they're on time, it will come out February 19th, and we still have until March 10th to pay. Good luck on your decision!
@cchun. Thanks and congrats! I was also accepted to Jeff and to Mass General in Boston. I really don't want to move (I love Philly and have family here), so I'm leaning towards choosing between Jeff and Penn. I have my heart set on Penn and my wallet set on Jefferson. Yet Mass General lingers in the back of my mind because it is such a good hospital system. At any rate, I'm definitely waiting for financial aid info. I'm basically just a mess of confusion at this point. I wish I had someone in the field to advise me.
Hey@handerson12, I totally agree with you! I am so lost now and it kind of all comes down to the financial aid stuff. Well, I guess for now let's just be happy and celebrate and we'll see in about two weeks how things go. Good luck and I hope you and I make the right decision, no matter where we go!
@cchun and @handerson12: Congrats you two! I'm struggling with the same dilemma. I'm so excited that I got into Penn, but the tuition + other estimated costs = insane! I know I eventually want to be a peds NP... if money were no object (wouldn't that be nice), I'd pick Penn in a heartbeat, since they have so many great NP programs for after my BSN. But even with the potential of $$ via financial aid and scholarships, the price tag for Penn seems daunting. For now though, I'm going to celebrate the fact that I was fortunate enough to be accepted at such a great program!
Congrats to all of you guys! My name is Sarah and I am a current Penn ABSN student and one of the Peer Advising co-chairs for the incoming 2014 class. There is a facebook page for admitted students for you to connect with your future classmates and get answers to your questions. https://www.facebook.com/groups/265456536962731/ Hope to see you all in June and please don't hesitate to contact me with questions!

Same issue. Maybe it will be more accessible @ the 3pm deadline? The problem exists in 3 different browsers for me so it's probably on their end. I seriously can't believe the day has finally come.
