UPenn MSN 2016

Published

Hi all,

After lots of looking through threads here on AN (and I mean, lots , :specs:) I wasn't able to find a thread for MSN applicants recently accepted to UPenn (start date, summer 2016!)- so I decided to start one.

I was recently accepted into the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program and am looking to connect with my future cohort!

6 spots? That's great! Thanks for the information. Hopefully this online class goes well for us.. í ½í¸‰

Congratulations to you as well! í ½í¸„í ½í¸„í ½í¸„

Got into the FNP program! Will be starting FT in the fall. Anyone else hear anything?

Congratulations! Are you from the Philly area or will you be moving?

I received acceptance to the full time program for FNP as well except they want me to start this summer part-time and take a research class.... is this what your checklist on the app portal states as well?

Congrats!

Applied for this spring, they pushed my application to a summer start. I interviewed today for the AGACNP program- I think it went well, better than that actually! Said I should hear in 2-3 weeks so fingers crossed!!!

Wow, that's really great news! Do you know approx. how many people are accepted into the acute care program?

The woman I interviewed with was fantastic! So insightful and helpful. I asked this exact question- she said somewhere in the 30's, but this years class has in the 40's. I also inquired about a DNP program- which is in the works. It would be a post masters DNP.

Penn, by far, has been the best interview experience I've ever had! My interview was very relaxed and more conversational rather than being "drilled".

That's fantastic news about the 10 more seats being available this year! I'm always curious about class sizes and asked in my interview as well. I believe there are about 20 seats available for the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care track.

Awesome question by the way regarding the post-master's DNP!

Has anyone heard anything else recently? When should we expect admissions decisions for summer entry? I received an email saying my application would move on in the review process, and I've tried reaching out to the admissions office but have never gotten ahold of anyone.

Have you interviewed? If so, I would maybe try contacting the program director or assistant program director for the program you applied to.

Actually, yes, just interviewed! Good luck to everyone! Fingers crossed!

Good luck to you!

Will be moving! Need to do some research on the area.

Same! I flew to Philly recently to get an idea of the area and am trying to stay in the closest proximity to the SON as possible.

From my understanding, the University City area is the closest area to the SON building.
