UPenn 18 month Accelerated Nursing Program

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

I'm interested in applying to Penn's 18 month Accelerated Nursing Program; however, there is so much work involved I want to make sure it's worth the effort!

Are there any Penn nursing students/graduates who could share their experiences in the program? Has anyone heard bad or good things about the program? Also, how competitive is the program (i.e.: what's the admission rate, class size, avg. GPA, etc.)?

Thanks for the help!

Congratulations Amojo!!! I will see you at the chat tonight.

Marinara,

The whole married thing does complicate manners. I would try hard to get that worked out with Financial Aid, it is worth every bit of effort you have to put into it. I hope you find a program that is economical for you (and that you are excited to attend).

Is anyone else still waiting to get their plan of study? I'm really excited to go to penn but I need to know if I can do the summer start. And I'm getting more anxious since I need to give notice to my employers here, figure out leases, and move across the country?!

I thought we were supposed to hear by today at the latest. I'm tempted to email her and ask, but I know that's probably just more work for her right now.

Anyone else in the same boat?

I just received my Plan of Study via email 15 min ago. I assume your's is on its way!

I still haven't heard anything! I'm going to wait a little longer and then try to contact her directly. I don't want to be pushy but it seems like a long time to wait after already being "accepted" into the program.

I also received my Plan of Study this morning. I had exchanged a few emails with Filomena, and in of them, she actually asked me to forward her a copy of my transcript since she was having trouble accessing it. So WildSchmidt - Penn may be having technical difficulties which is delaying your POS.

Also, to those in the SF Bay Area, I've started a thread on the Facebook group about meeting up sometime. If you're interested in joining us, please reply to the thread so we can all try to find a place and time that works for us!

Still nothing, and she didn't return email or phone calls today. I'm going to trust I will get it on Monday, but I'm starting to get anxious and frustrated. I need to figure out my job and lease and moving to Philly if I'm going to do the program. And the fact that they told us definitively we would hear today makes me question their organization.

Still hoping it all works out...

Man, not sure what else I needed to do, but did not get accepted to Upenns accelerated nursing program. Had a 3.8 cum, all pre-reqs complete, was president of my fraternity, played hockey for my college lol. I thought I had it without a doubt. I went to West Chester University, maybe that's why. Congrats to all that were accepted, and good luck! I decided to go with DeSales University's accelerated nsg program after receiving the letter from upenn.

What kind of grades did you guys have that were accepted, and what previous colleges did you attend, if you don't mind me asking. Thanks.

3.6 GPA Michigan State University - Physiology

EMT-B experience

Health Director experience

Student Coordinator (Emergency Department)

Student Volunteer - ER

Lot of other "outside the classroom" activities.

I've gotten into MSU, Purdue, U Penn, and I'm still waiting on University of Michigan and JHU (which I doubt I got into JHU at this point)...

So who went to the accepted students day yesterday??

I would have loved to have gone, but was not able. I would really appreciate hearing report of anything interesting!

Thanks!
