UPenn 18 month Accelerated Nursing Program

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

I'm interested in applying to Penn's 18 month Accelerated Nursing Program; however, there is so much work involved I want to make sure it's worth the effort!

Are there any Penn nursing students/graduates who could share their experiences in the program? Has anyone heard bad or good things about the program? Also, how competitive is the program (i.e.: what's the admission rate, class size, avg. GPA, etc.)?

Thanks for the help!

congrats! :) i'm interested in applying to upenn next year. i was wondering if you guys don't mind putting up your stats and ec's? thanks!

Congratulations to all who got in!

I did too!

Excited to hear about the FNP part, but I won't be too upset if I don't get into it right now. I am just so happy to have somewhere to go for the BSN portion. Somewhere awesome!

I got in as well! It's wierd that we have to wait to hear about the MSN part, transfer credit, and financial aid. But yay!

Also, is everyone FNP? That's what I am and anxious to hear about that piece!

Congrats to everyone!

i am in for the FNP too!

Congratulations everyone! We were the strongest group of applicants in Penn's distinguished history! :) I got into the ABSN/MSN-FNP program and couldn't be more excited. I adore the campus and the faculty was really impressive. However, I'm in a situation where I have to choose between Hopkins and Penn. Personally, I'm really torn between the two. Is anyone else in the same situation? If so, how are you choosing?

compared to some other schools, we get financial aid info fairly quickly from penn. i applied RD to jhu and emory, but penn is my first choice, even though i wanted to get out of pennsylvania, penn pulled me back!

I'm on the waitlist....*sigh*

Does anyone know how large the accelerated BSN class is this year? Thanks!

vfro- I was waitlisted, too. Did you by chance only apply to the ABSN and not to a Master's program, too? I'm wondering if that's why I was waitlisted (though I guess there's no point in sitting here thinking it over). Just wondering :-)

hey there. i applied to ABSN/MSN (FNP). i think there was a very qualified group of applicants and unfortunately there aren't enough spots for everyone. we'll see.....

good luck to you.

one good point is that a lot of applicants to competitive schools receive multiple acceptances. i am sure that many offered a spot to penn will turn it down in favor of johns hopkins or ucsf or columbia. i don't know if i'm getting my schools confused, but i think for penn they said about 75 or so were in the program that starts in the summer. if the deposit money for your other schools is due sometime after march 12, you will probably be able to move up or off the waitlist from penn and still have time to make whatever decision is best.

i am leaning heavily towards penn, but still waiting on word from jhu and scholarship info from emory.

good luck y'all.

Thanks for the reply amojo99. Yeah- i thought the class was going to be around 70-80, but i wasn't sure if they told you all an exact number on your acceptance letters.

I'm just waiting for my other decisions to come in, and then i'll go from there. There are a lot of people on penn's waitlist this year, but they said some would drop off.

only time will tell my fate...

my financial aid info is up on the website. just wanted to give yall a heads up.
