I was surprised there wasn't already a thread for those applying to UPenn's direct entry program since the threads from previous years were so active, so I thought I would start one where this year's applicants could gather. :)
I'm just hoping to get to know some other applicants so we can support each other through this nerve wracking process! My name is Michelle and I am applying for the Nurse Anesthesia specialty, I'm in the process of working on my personal statement. Any others out there?
Congrats to all of you who got interviews! I was invited for the fnp interview. Anyone else debating phone vs in person? I live in Minnesota and its the first day or finals week so I'm not sure if I can make it.
Also got an FNP interview! I live in California and will likely do a phone interview as travel across country near the holidays will be difficult for me.
I will be attending the in-person interview because I live in Philadelphia. I think without a compelling reason, I would look pretty lazy to not travel the 10 minutes across town :) Let me know if you guys end up coming though. And if anyone has Philadelphia questions, I'm happy to answer them. I also went to Penn for my Masters, so I can answer questions about the campus generally, but not the school of nursing.
Congratulations to everyone who has heard about interviews so far! I will also be traveling to Philadelphia for the interview. This is actually my second time applying as well as my second time interviewing. I opted for a phone interview last year because I was living and finishing my undergrad in San Francisco and traveling was too big of a financial commitment at the time. This year I'm committed to doing it in person. I hope it shows the faculty that I am really serious about attending Penn? Yikes, we'll see. I'm already nervous.
Just booked a flight! Tickets are not expensive right now and I'm across the country. So if you guys are planning to fly out, book soon! I was also debating to do phone or in-person, but I decided in-person because you're able to show your passion for nursing to the faculty and admin. Hope this helps for those of you still debating. And congrats to everyone who has heard back! x]
Just got an interview for Peds Acute Care, has anyone else heard? Congrats to those that have heard, and for those that have not, there is still time to hear so do not freak out! I've been on edge all week and of course...I hear on the very last day!
What are most people doing-in person interview or phone interview?
I heard this morning for FNP! I'm going to do a phone interview since I'm on the West Coast and the application fees are starting to add up! Congrats to everyone :)
