I really hope tomorrow is the *day*. Just an FYI, Columbia does not allow students to defer unless circumstances are military related. Columbia accepts a massive number of students and many choose to go elsewhere because of cost/location/etc. I was accepted last year and I remember being really surprised at how many students were at accepted students day. Unfortunately, due to mostly financial reasons, I couldn't attend and had to reapply for the 2014 cohort. Last year I had applied for deferment, but it was denied. Anyways, I have great friends in the program and have heard only positive things from Columbia's students. Good luck everyone!

Hey All, I just wanted to check in and say that is was really great to meet everyone on the WHNP/CNM interview day on Monday! I was really very impressed with the faculty, the campus, the current students, Philly and all of the other interviewees. I can't believe we just have to sit back and wait now. Stay positive! I'll be sending everyone optimistic vibes!

Chloerose, I would suggest getting a firm grasp on why you want to go into nursing, why you chose your specialty, why you want to go to Penn specifically and I'd brush up on current events in your field. I definitely did not feel like my interviewer was trying to trick me with obscure questions or anything. I wish I could remember some specific questions I was asked, outside of the obvious! I'm not certain why I didn't get in last year. My interviewer didn't have my most relevant letter of recommendation when she called me to interview, and I always wondered if that negatively impacted me, or if that letter was missing from my application the entire process. To be honest, Penn attracts some of the most well-rounded, academically impressive and interesting applicants. I felt like my application was strong last year, but I was up against some seriously impressive competition. You just never know! I was accepted into a different program last year (but opted to not go at the last minute for a variety of reasons) and so I never directly inquired about why I was denied.

Congratulations to everyone who has heard about interviews so far! I will also be traveling to Philadelphia for the interview. This is actually my second time applying as well as my second time interviewing. I opted for a phone interview last year because I was living and finishing my undergrad in San Francisco and traveling was too big of a financial commitment at the time. This year I'm committed to doing it in person. I hope it shows the faculty that I am really serious about attending Penn? Yikes, we'll see. I'm already nervous.
