Hi there,
I was surprised there wasn't already a thread for those applying to UPenn's direct entry program since the threads from previous years were so active, so I thought I would start one where this year's applicants could gather. :)
I'm just hoping to get to know some other applicants so we can support each other through this nerve wracking process! My name is Michelle and I am applying for the Nurse Anesthesia specialty, I'm in the process of working on my personal statement. Any others out there?
Hi! I'm waitlisted and I haven't heard anything. I emailed them recently to find out where I was on the waitlist or what their waitlist process was but I haven't heard anything about that either...Anyone else know about the waitlist process?
Good luck to everyone and CONGRATULATIONS to everybody that got in! :)
So I just googled the waitlist process to figure out if there was any posts or anything about it in recent years...The BSN/MSN from 2012 (applying for 2013) said that no one on the waitlist had been accepted in three years. I'm not sure if that's still the case or if that's even an accurate statement...but considering how unresponsive Admissions has been, I feel like that's the only source of information out there.
DO NOT COME HERE FOR YOUR ABSN. this school has some great sim instructors and clinical instructors, yes. it has the ivy connections yes. but it does not give a **** about its students, especially ABSN students. They treat you like your mommy and daddy are still paying for your education and you still go out to fraternities every night of the week. They think that if you have a conversation with them about an issue in class its ALWAYS about "why didn't I get an A" when in reality its about WHY AM I PAYING SO MUCH DAMN MONEY TO be talked down to, taught disorganized classes and be a freaking guinea pig. I've seriously talked to so many people about my experience, just looking for someone in this freaking school to acknowledge that we have had some pretty bad luck being the guinea pig cohort and to say "I'm sorry that you had this experience" but no, that's not how Penn does it. They will talk you in circles til you get so frustrated you JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE. So happy i'm getting out of here for my masters.
