Hey everyone,
I was looking to connect with other people who have applied for Penn's BSN Second Degree Program. I received an email stating that interviews for the program would occur between November 2014 and January 2015. Has anyone heard back about an interview yet?
Best wishes!

Thank you for starting this thread! I have been following the Upenn BSN/MSN thread, but I am excited to connect with people applying to the second degree program only. I have not yet been contacted for an interview, and it is making me very anxious. Has anyone applying to the ABSN/ second degree BSN been contacted for an interview yet?
Hi LREYES2,
Thanks for your reply! I was wondering when someone might actually respond to this thread!
As for interviews, I was feeling anxious, too. I looked at some of the timing of last year's interviews and it looks like most of them took place at the end of January/early February. I guess we just have to be patient!
Well that is good to hear! Thanks for sharing.
I was accepted into another program in the area, but I'd like to wait to hear from Penn before I make a decision. Penn is my top choice but the admissions decisions are much later than the other program I am considering. I guess patience is key :)
Is Penn your top choice too?
OHSU (in Portland, OR) is my top choice at the moment and, like Penn, their decisions come out pretty late. It's frustrating when all I want to do is plan out the next couple of years!
To which program were you accepted? At least you have comfort of having at least one acceptance! Must feel pretty good!

Hi there,
I too applied to just to the ABSN portion of Penn's program. I, too, was wondering if anyone had been offered an interview yet, but it does seem to be that they do most of the ABSN/MSN interviews first. (Or at least I hope so!)
Does anyone know: If you're not offered an interview by the end of Jan, does that mean that you've been rejected? Or is there the possibility that you'll be offered admission without an interview?
Good luck to everyone!!
Hi Annie!

Interviews for the BSN Second Degree Candidates: BSN Second Degree applicants (and applicants not invited to interview for the MSN and PhD) will also be invited to interview. Applicants will be contacted between November 17, 2014 and January 25, 2014 to schedule an interview, if invited. Please note due to the high volume of applicants, we may not be able to offer an in person interview. The interviews will be approximately 30 minutes and held with an Associate Director within the admissions office at the School of Nursing. The interview is a great opportunity to learn more about the program, answer any questions you may have regarding the prerequisite courses, length of program, etc.

I don't know if this answers your questions... it still seems a little vague to me.
Thanks, LREYES2. I keep re-reading that email every couple of days, hoping that it will will an interview invitation into my inbox, haha. Let's keep our fingers crossed for early January...
Happy holidays to you all!

Hi all, I also applied to this program and read through some of last years posts for the second degree BSN program. It seems most of them were contacted in January for interviews! So I wouldn't worry just yet and in that thread someone mentioned that in the 2013 cohort people were accepted both if they were invited to interview and if they were not. Anyway, it's great to find this group! Good luck to everyone!

Hey everyone, I received an interview! I wanted to know if anyone has any idea when we find our about our decision. If anyone has any insights please share. Thanks so much!
Congrats on your interview! I think we hear in February about decisions. When is yours scheduled? I'm hoping to hear about an interview soon! How were you notified about setting up your interview?
Hey LREYES2 ! I was part of the ABSN/MSN applicant pool but was denied admission into that program. They however did consider me just for the ABSN and I already had my interview in early December. It went really well so hopefully that will mean I got into ABSN, since U Penn is my first choice. They notified me through email and offered certain times and slots from which I had to pick my time. My interview was on the phone and it lasted about 55 minutes even though they said it was for 30 mins. It was very informal unlike my expectations. Do we find out early February or late February? I am so anxious and want to plan for the future ! It has been such a long wait :)
