2019 UPENN BSN/MSN

Published

Hey everyone! I started this thread for this years application cycle.

I'll be there next weekend too ? Out of curiosity, given that the Penn ABSN/MSN program is so crazy expensive, how are you guys planning to pay for it? I'm guessing mostly with loans? Penn's my ideal program but the cost is my only deterrent!

Also, does anyone know if there’s a dress code for the admitted students day this Friday? Casual or business casual?

Is this for BSN or MSN students? I haven't heard about it.

The email says "There is no dress code, but I do recommend good walking shoes for the afternoon activities."

I'm not sure what to wear!

Ooh I must have missed that in the email. Thank you for the clarification! I'm not sure either tbh. Maybe a nice blouse and my peacoat with black jeans and boots? But then idk if that's too casual.

And @FolksBtrippin, I'm in for the ABSN/MSN accelerated program and I know that at least for us, there's an admitted students day on Friday.

Hi all! I have been silently stalking this thread and figured I should finally introduce myself. I was accepted into the ABSN program at Penn, and will be there next week for the official visit day. Anyone else going to be there/looking for potential roommates for next year? I am originally from CA but currently go to school in St. Louis. I am currently deciding between Penn and UW--pretty different schools, but lmk if anyone else is in the same boat!

Hi! I was accepted to the ABSN program at Penn as well. I am going to the admitted day in March. I am from CA as well. I will also be looking for potential roommates for next year! I heard they have a facebook group for incoming Penn ABSN/MSN students. You will probably hear more about it this Friday. Let me know how the visit on the 22nd goes! I would love to hear what you learn.

Awesome, glad to meet another Californian. And that is good to know about the FB group, I'll keep my eye out for that. And I will definitely let you know how the visit goes!

I was accepted as an ABSN student so I'm guessing its for both ABSN and ABSN/MSN students!

Is there a Facebook group? That would be super helpful! Looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow.

PSA: the Facebook group name is UPenn ABSN 2019-2020 Cohort for those of us in the ABSN program! If you search it you should be able to find it, or I can invite you.

For those of you who went to the admitted day, would you mind telling us what you thought? (I'm particularly interested in some of the comments made earlier about it not being as supportive an environment as at other schools.) I'm on the waitlist for FNP and trying to decide if I should stay on it or not, so I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!
