2013 UPenn BSN/MSN Applicants

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi Everyone! This topic thread is for those applying to UPENN BSN/MSN program summer 2013. I hope we can create a support network here!

I will be applying to the nurse-midwifery and WHNP program and have begun writing my personal statement. Their application should be completely available July 15th but you should be able to create an account. Good luck everyone!

For those who have been waitlisted like me - the waitlist is not ranked. If they need to accept anyone off of the waitlist, the admissions committee will meet again and decides that way. They haven't had to take anyone off of the waitlist in 2 years though. Hope that's helpful to anyone else who may be in my position!

I called financial aid today and they said they are aiming for the end of the month to send out financial aid packages. I hope this happens soon. Can't wait :-)

thanks hopeful! I was also waitlisted. I'm going to call F.C. tomorrow to ask if I can resubmit my resume since now I can add more substance. hopefully we'll get lucky!!

For those of you planning to attend, does anyone want to start thinking about housing or has anyone heard of what neighborhoods are good to look in? I found an other dream-home: 4531 Sansom St # HOUSE, Philadelphia, PA 19139 - Zillow Unfortunately it is ridiculously overpriced. I'm used to paying 900+ for a room in NYC/DC, so this place comes to 700 and sounds kinda reasonable. Compared to other housing in the area, it seems outrageous, though.

Specializes in CT surgery, Cardiac, Critical Care.

A bit slow here, but congrats everyone! Any guys on here looking for roommates?

Cheep cheep... cheep cheep...

What is the sound of one male nursing student? :roflmao:

Hahaha YanMinor, come join the Facebook group! I think you will have more luck there. The link should be posted a few pages back.

i only applied to the bsn portion and i've limited it down to two wonderful choices now...ultimately, financial aid is going to make or break my decision to go to upenn. i really really REALLY hope upenn will help me make it possible *crosses fingers*

greeneggs, what will your other choice be?

FingersCross'd: are you in the FB group? That's the exact area I want to move to. It has so much character! I'm not sure what I want to do for a living situation yet, but we should definitely talk.

hopefulnurse, i live in nyc and easily decided my other top choice to be SUNY Stony Brook:yes:. if finances weren't an issue though, UPENN is my top choice hands down. unfortunately, i know i need to be sensible and consider tuition costs+COL as well, and Stony Brook is an awesome choice because i get in-state tuition, it's 12 months long, and it's a great program.

Hey! Yes I'm in the FB group :) I dont think that specific house is available anymore :( . It's probably too early to seriously look at housing, but I'm getting a feel for the market and hopefully on visiting day, I can get a feel for the neighborhoods. Are you going to the visiting day?
