Hi Everyone! This topic thread is for those applying to UPENN BSN/MSN program summer 2013. I hope we can create a support network here!

I will be applying to the nurse-midwifery and WHNP program and have begun writing my personal statement. Their application should be completely available July 15th but you should be able to create an account. Good luck everyone!

They won't give me any information about my financial aid. Was yours about something on the CSS profile?

It wasn't CSS. I was missing a page from my 2012 tax returns. Don't worry. They are being that way with me too. I tried to trap the emailer into giving me more information by asking if she needed it immediately or if next week was alright. All she would say was "this weekend is fine." hahah. fail. oh well.

By the way, I had weird dreams about houses in Philadelphia thanks to this forum.

Here's another fun subject I was just chatting with hollysf about. How many of you tell people about UPenn and then people start talking about Penn State or bringing up Joe Paterno? My aunt is the worst. She keeps on saying UConn. haha. Along those same lines, it's weird that friends and family are way more excited about the idea of Columbia or Yale than Penn, just because of the branding/name recognition. Anyone else experiencing these things?

Feminista- I agree with everyone else- it's a great sign! I kind of wish I forgot to submit a page to my financial aid app so then I could know faster too:)

I get the whole, "you mean penn state?" line all the time and it's crazy. I don't want to have to spell it out for people every time and say "the university of Pennsylvania."

Ry425- does you cavachon destroy the house if you leave him alone for too long?

Everyone thinks I'm waiting to hear back from Penn State... I have to explain to everyone that they're both great, but two very different schools haha. You'd be surprised how many well-educated people confuse the two, just because they sound similar and are in similar parts of the country...

The butterflies are starting to settle in :) by this time tomorrow though, it'll all be over!

wow you guys are so awesome! been having a rough day and reading through the last couple of pages of this forum has totally put a smile on my face. I too am currently obsessed with Downton Abbey, LOVE dogs, and adore baking. Sadly I don't know if we'll have time to take care of a pup. I have a friend that recently went through Penn's program and it seemed like she barely had time to breathe and take care of herself.

okay. it's starting to hit me. I'm REALLY nervous. trying not to think about it but I'd say "the decision" is occupying about 60% of my thoughts right now. haha. I hope I can sleep tonight!

I'm definitely nervous, but I'm doing alright. I've kept myself very busy these past few days. Just remember that there's nothing we can do about it... and we will all hear at the same exact time, which is so much nicer than how the school notified us for interviews! You won't have to wait all week... we will all hear tomorrow at 3 PM EST! We're almost at the home stretch, and at this time tomorrow, we could all be future Penn nurses! I like the sound of that :yes:
