Hi guys! I couldn't find a thread for this cycle's cohort and wanted to make one!

Did you apply? You can post your stats/what program you applied to!!

I applied to the WHNP program but my stats are.... very unique... haha so I'm not sure how good they will be to compare.

I have a BA in Women's Studies and a spent a few years doing public health education and advocacy with youth experiencing sexual/domestic violence. 3.47 GPA and my honors thesis researched racial disparities in hysterectomy procedures- but it wasn't clinical.

In undergrad, I was actually double majoring in nursing and WST. I was a semester away from graduating when some really horrible things happened in my life and I failed a course and out of the nursing program (and my GPA tanked). In retrospect, I should've done a medical withdrawal but I was just overwhelmed and dumb and didn't do it.

Most schools don't accept students who were previously in other programs so I don't have high expectations, but I do have a lot of experience in women's health from a policy/education standpoint, as well as the 250 clinical hours from my previous program- and a pretty deep understanding of the nursing profession with clear goals of what I want to do in the future.

At this point I'm just hoping a school will decide to feel holistic enough in their admissions process to take a chance on me!

I also applied to Columbia and will apply to Hopkins, NYU, GWU, and possibly Emory.

Oh wow. I think they do look holistically at everything and it sounds like you know exactly what you want to do and have tons of experience. I was also thinking of applying to NYU depending on what happens with my other applications. Not sure if NYU tuition and also NYC rent would be feasible ?  It's weird that their deadlines are so much later, at least for the ABSN program.

I just submitted mine today! I was really procrastinating on that video interview...

I've never been to Philadelphia but I'm super excited about Penn and starting to get excited about Philly too. I'm tempted to apply to some other school in the area. Is Thomas Jefferson a good school for those who also like research? I've only considered Drexel as an alternative so far.

Congrats! I have also never been to Philly so we're in the same boat :) as far as research at TJU- I'm not sure!

I’ve also applied to the ABSN program. The wait will kill me LOL! I believe I’ve read before that they do interviews. Does anyone know when they usually conduct interviews or send out invites for the interviews? Going to try and find some old threads from the past and see what they’ve said! UPenn would be amazing to go to. Good luck to everyone throughout the application process ?

Congrats on applying! I don't think they do interviews for ABSN. I did hear that before they would do MSN interviews for some specialties but I don't know if they are doing that this year. Good luck with any other schools you applied to as well :).

Hi everyone! I also applied for the ABSN program. I’m wondering if anyone has had issues with payment of the application fee. I paid the fee with my checking account on 10/15, but the payment is still pending on the application page, so my application is still marked as incomplete. I’ve tried reaching out to the admissions office via email and phone, but I have not received a reply. I’m really nervous at this point because I need to have my application marked as complete by tomorrow. Any help is greatly appreaciated!

Hey you should definitely email ----------------------- directly ----------------------------- and also [email protected] if it has been pending since the 15th. Don't be nervous though if you have a receipt your application is still considered completed. Make sure you write in the subject something eye catching, maybe she hasn't opened your email because it looks low priority. Good luck!

Hi everyone! On my application it says that everything is complete but it still needs to be reviewed and verified by the admissions office. Does everyone else's say this as well?

@josier My application was verified this past Friday by the admissions office. I’m pretty sure they verify manually, so they’ll probably get to your application this week and check it off. Don’t fret! Good luck in the admissions process!

With your background in women's health and clinical experience, I can't imagine why you wouldn't get accepted!

I applied to the WHNP program as well. I also applied to Columbia, Hopkins, Boston College, and Vanderbilt. UPenn is definitely my top choice, though.
