Oh Awesome! Good luck! I applied to just the ABSN program. Do you mind sharing some of your stats and background? It is driving me crazy thinking about whether or not I will get in. This is gonna be a long 3 or so months of waiting LOL

Sure! I graduated in 2019 with a BS in Neuroscience, GPA 3.23. I have 2 years of research experience at Penn in between. I am super nervous as well. February is a looong ways away ?. How about you?

Oh wow thats impressive! I have my bachelors in political science (2018)so I am nervous because it is not anything related to nursing. My GPA was a 3.4. I have been working the last year as a medical scribe for a pediatric urologist. I am hoping my experience in the medical field will help. That is awesome that you have experience at Penn. I am sure that will help in the application process.

I think you will definitely get in!! You meet the GPA requirement and you have actual clinical experience. I feel like I had to spin my research experience in a way that made it sound like it was related to nursing but it's not very clinical?. Did you apply anywhere else?

Research is helpful too! Especially at Penn :) I am also applying to Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Augusta University. Depending on what I hear back from these schools I may apply to others as well. Nursing seems so competitive and its hard to find stats about acceptance rates for each school. Are you applying to other places too?

I applied to Jeff as well! I'm hoping I don't have to leave Philly I love it here.

I just submitted mine today! I was really procrastinating on that video interview...

I've never been to Philadelphia but I'm super excited about Penn and starting to get excited about Philly too. I'm tempted to apply to some other school in the area. Is Thomas Jefferson a good school for those who also like research? I've only considered Drexel as an alternative so far.

I applied to the WHNP program but my stats are.... very unique... haha so I'm not sure how good they will be to compare.

I have a BA in Women's Studies and a spent a few years doing public health education and advocacy with youth experiencing sexual/domestic violence. 3.47 GPA and my honors thesis researched racial disparities in hysterectomy procedures- but it wasn't clinical.

In undergrad, I was actually double majoring in nursing and WST. I was a semester away from graduating when some really horrible things happened in my life and I failed a course and out of the nursing program (and my GPA tanked). In retrospect, I should've done a medical withdrawal but I was just overwhelmed and dumb and didn't do it.

Most schools don't accept students who were previously in other programs so I don't have high expectations, but I do have a lot of experience in women's health from a policy/education standpoint, as well as the 250 clinical hours from my previous program- and a pretty deep understanding of the nursing profession with clear goals of what I want to do in the future.

At this point I'm just hoping a school will decide to feel holistic enough in their admissions process to take a chance on me!

I also applied to Columbia and will apply to Hopkins, NYU, GWU, and possibly Emory.
