the vet called me this am with some good news . kizzykat is lifting her head and meowing.he thinks she had reaction to the prednsione i was giving her for her arthritis. she was on prednsione 2.5mg, every other day and i wasn't sure how much she was getting because sometimes she ate it and sometimes she didn't. she hated the taste... so i brought her to the vet monday for a shot of sloumedrol and i didn't give her a dose of predsione monday because she got the shot of solumedrol. i figured i didn't have to give it to her anymore. well , tuesday morning i found out the dangers of prednisone . i did this to her. i didn't even know it ... and she still isn't out of the woods completely... but she's better..

i know i am a RN and i should know better wih prednisone. the vet took her to his home last night because she couldn't be left alone. isn't he a wonderful vet? i was worried about her all night being alone in the clinic all night and he had her at his house. i could hug that vet and i will.

well your prayers are working and my kizzykat is doing better. she will be there for 3 or 4 more days. i am calling off sick for friday so i can go pick her up and arrange payments for the bill. i hope i am picking her up.

i just can't express the love i feel for all of you. thank you so much for your prayers and kind wishes. i do feel a little better myself today( except for the guilt ) and will try to take a nap later. i need to call the vet for an update at 1430. kizzykat and i both thank you for your kind wishes and prayers.

i'll keep you posted.

Kizzy your story has prompted me to take my own to the vet in the morning. He's 10 1/2 and I adopted him a year ago from my local MSPCA. He had a battery of issues including a UTI and stressgastroenteritis when I adopted him. At one point he could not hold anything down including water and he was put on Flagyl, the miracle drug. He had a repeat bout a few months later and now I think we are going on round three of problems. I caught him peeing in the corner today, he's thrown up a few times this week (which is not out of the norm for him) and for over a week he has been screaming at the door, crying out for no reason, appears starving and then takes two bites and keeps meowing, and will actually make a break for the door if we're not careful opening it. He's never tried anything like this before. He has never been an outdoor cat and I live in an enormous apartment complex so I'm not sure exactly where he thinks he's going. He just walks around sniffing. He's kind of quirky so I didn't put anything together but your post scared me so much I'm not taking any chances. He's starting to look miserable, too. I called the vet and we're off at 9 am tomorrow. Who knows, maybe sharing your story on here has saved the life of another kitty. I'll let you know tomorrow! and of course hoping to hear more happy news about Kizzy.

I'm so happy your little baby is doing better. Your vet sounds not just hughly qualified but as compassionate as they come. Kitty is lucky to have great care and a wonderful mommy. Hugs.

So glad to hear about Kizzy. More prayers for both of you on the way. Also, your vet sounds like a true gem and a sweetheart. Blessings on him for his kind heart.
