Hi everyone,
It seems like there's no forum for uoft 2023 intake, so here I am to start one. Let's get through the admission journey together! Feel free to share any updates on your admission process, and please share your experiences, backgrounds and questions!
maya08 said:@curly Thank you - It was quite rough to deal with it while also having to focus on exams.
I have good quiz scores throughout the time I was taking the course, but I did not perform well on the midterm or the final due to my losses. Unfortunately they each occurred around exam time. I included the dates when I submitted my special consideration form so they would be able to see it affected my exam grades. Because of these bad marks in the first semester, it was pulling my overall grade down so I dropped it before any other assessments as they weren't enough to bring my mark up.
For some reason, UofT doesn't offer anatomy from May to end of June. Instead the course begins in early May and ends in August. I guess its because of how much content there is to learn in anatomy.
Do you know whether there are any other universities that offer Spring anatomy courses and whether it would be accepted?
When filling out the special consideration form, I mentioned that I am enrolled in a Summer anatomy course at UofT. There wasn't much space to ask questions on what my other options could be.
Off the top of my head, athabasca maybe? I just did a quick search and found this https://www.athabascau.ca/course/index.html?/undergraduate/all/all I could be wrong but the courses seem to be self-paced?
I may have found something through conestoga...
https://studentportal.conestogac.on.ca/StudentPortal/Default.aspx?mgid=0&smid=5&ssmid=0&MODId=17&Key=physiology&CRSId=33074 and https://studentportal.conestogac.on.ca/StudentPortal/Default.aspx?mgid=0&smid=5&ssmid=0&MODId=17&Key=physiology&CRSId=33276 are like anat/phys 1 and 2, the amount of hours and descriptions makes me think they're half courses. They are each worth 1 unit. You have the option to start the first one April 12-Jun 12, and part 2 is May 17-July 17...they overlap so you could theoretically take them at the same time (they're both offered in the April-June time slot) - That said, I don't even know if UofT would accept these.
Alternatively, they have an anat/phys course that seems to be geared toward nursing students? More hours than the two of those ^^ combined and it's worth 4 units, offered May 9th - Aug 15th → https://studentportal.conestogac.on.ca/StudentPortal/Default.aspx?mgid=0&smid=5&ssmid=0&MODId=17&Key=physiology&CRSId=39123 might be too late in the year though.
This is what I found in five min of googling, there were at least three other ontario colleges that popped up that I didn't click on. If you look hard enough, odds are there's a perfect course timing-wise that uoft will accept.

I am currently doing the Anatomy and Physiology course at Athabasca University and it is self paced. If you sign up by April 8th (or 7th maybe), you can start the course May 1st. It's a year long course technically but you can try and get as much as done as possible by the end of June and show them your grades during that point! Definitely worth a try! I started it in February and am rushing to try and get it done by end of May!

@maya08 this sounds like a solid idea
@curly Thank you so much for those links!! I will be checking them out right now. I saw Athabaska's anatomy course however I think it would end around the same time as my UofT course which might be too late in the Summer:( I'll look into it more!
Thanks again
@Rene K Thank you so much!! I will look into it. Ohh I didn't realize it was self paced, I assumed it would end in August since it's a full credit.

Is there any way I could message you privately about the course? I'd love to know more about it so I can determine whether I can complete it in two months.

Yes of course!
cindy0916 said:Hi all,
I received my offer to U of T on March 31st. The conditions of my acceptance according to the offer letter are (a) that I maintain a C- (!) in all my prereq courses and (b) that all post-secondary transcripts are received by July 15th. My initial understanding was that prereqs were supposed to be completed with transcripts delivered to U of T by May 31 per their website and I've been killing myself to finish the A&P prereq through Athabasca (it's insane), but it doesn't state that anywhere in the actual offer letter. Does anybody know if I now have until July 15 to finish the course??
They need the official transcripts to be received and processed by UofT before July 15th.
I also took the Athabasca self paced course and ended up completing in about 2 months to make UofT's deadline. Also take into account the time it takes for Athabasca to receive the transcript request, send it and then for UofT to receive it and process the transcript (which all needs to take place before July 15th).
My personal schedule from last year included me taking the final in June 25th which left less then 3 week for my final to be marked, final grades submitted to the university and then start the sending process. I was extremely stressed they wouldn't make it on time and I remember it being very close so I'd try to leave more room if at all possible.

@maya08 I completed the athabasca course in 2 months, it sucked but it is doable if you are solely focused on that class!
@currentaccel.RNstudent Did you complete anatomy from Athabaska to get into UofT nursing? I thought UofT only needed physiology.
I need anatomy in order to be considered for Wesrern's nursing. Do you know if they have a deadline? I looked but all I could find was that they "recommend prerequisites to be complete by the end of April".

I think you would still have to finish it by May 31st, you just only need a c-
