UNR Nursing Starting Fall '14

Published

Hello All!

I just wanted to try and get in touch with any of my fellow nursing classmates at the UNR Ovris School of Nursing starting this fall (2014). Any one out there as nervous and ridiculously excited as I am to start this new chapter?!

Congrats on getting in! That's exciting! I lived in Vegas before we moved here, I know how competitive that program is. I wasn't even trying to go there, I was trying to go to CSN before we moved here and I got into this BSN program. I'm sure you'll do great, Good luck!

Thanks so much! I'm so excited but more than a bit nervous. Congratulations to you too!

Hello,

I am starting this Fall tool! I am really anxious as well. I am also a little bit nervous that I do not know anybody that is in the program. Have you registered for your classes yet?

Hey!

I've taken classes with just a couple of people starting with us but aside from them I don't know anyone. I did register. The permissions for our clinical section just went through today, so I now have every class set! How are you doing with all of the clinical check-offs due at orientation?

I just finished registering as well! Which section did you choose for 301LR? I have done everything on the list except the . I will probably do that sometime this week. What do you plan on doing over the summer?

I ended up in section 1005, how about you? I've got still got to buy major health insurance, but the UNR insurance isn't available until the first part of August. I still have to purchase the too but I was told we can hold off until a little closer to when class starts so we don't have to pay for extra coverage we're not going to use before section starts. I plan on visiting friends and family by going on some kind of crazy Northwest road trip! I hear that this will be our last chance to catch up with loved ones or vacation until we finish the program :nailbiting:. Other than that, I'm just working to try and save a little money. Do you have any plans for the summer? Which class are you most nervous about? I hear theory is a challenge (not that anything will be easy).

I am in section 1005 as well! I also got section 1001 for 318. Have you found out what the cost would be for the insurance through the school? I was thinking about switching to that, I ended up getting most of my stuff done for orientation at the clinic up there. Do you know if it is better to purchase a parking permit? I am getting really excited for orientation!

I do not have any set plans for the summer yet. I am going to try to spend as much time with my daughter outside as I possibly can. I think we may try to plan a trip to Disneyland with her, and possibly go see my parents one last time before the program begins. I may be moving as well. Everything is kind of up in the air. Hopefully I can get everything organized in time!

I have a couple friends in the WNC program, and one friend in the TMCC program. I have heard that the assessment class was the most difficult to get used to, and testing. I am not sure what to expect though because each of us had completely different learning styles and struggles in our classes, and all of them are different programs.
