I'm so sorry that you didn't pass, Mary. I commend you for taking the NCLEX as many times as you have!! My brother took it and failed 3 times and then he just called it quits. I wish I could smack him and make him realize that he can't just give up. I hope you don't! Have you looked into taking a Kaplan course? I've been told that they are excellent.... well worth the money.
Again, I'm sorry.

I am sorry to hear you didn't pass. I took it in June..... was not fun, but I made it... however there are no jobs available where I work right now, therefore I am currently out of luck!!! I used the kaplan review book to study from and found that one to be the most helpful! Good luck to you!

Sorry to hear about your results, but I know several great nurses who failed the NCLEX the first time round. Don't let this stop you. Prepare and study for the next test. You will be fine. good luck!

Brian is right...... I also know a quite a few who didn't pass their first time. I also know a couple who had to take it 3-4 times before they finally passed. Funny thing is, these people are the ones you'd never think wouldn't pass...... very, very smart people.
Give it another shot. :)

I am so sorry for you. I failed the first ime also. After failing, I did 3 things..
1. I took a week for myself.. no studying at all.
2. I purchased a study program from the NCSBN website-- you can purchase it for different lengths of time, and faithfully was on it everday.
3. I purchased a book called NCLEX-101: HOW To PASS by Sylvia Rayfield and Loretta Manning. This book was a godsend. It was the most helpful book that I ever opened in regards to the NCLEX.
I passed the second time around.

One of my study tools was a set of NCLEX review tapes by Sylvia Rayfield. They were awesome, and great to listen to on the way to work.
