  1. you must didn't see the last post. I didn't hear none of the negative comments about the nurses. I think that was rude and comments make some think that nurse don't do anything. But that show or that comment is not going to stop me from going medical school. I volunteer at a hosp and I see LPN being nasty to CNA, RNs toward LPN and the Dr. toward the RN. I see it everyday and I am still going to go to get my BS in nursing and move on to MD school. so don't be confused!
  2. I volunteer at a hosp and I know some GREAt dr's and then I have seen some NASTY dr's. I was picking up at pt for discharge and I heard one Yell "What the hell are you all good for" he was referring to the nurses on the floor. My mouth just dropped and he looked at me like what the hell you looking at. And me being the person I am I just rolled my eyes of disgust. I see him all the time when I go on that floor! Just a jerk!
  3. I might not like it after all with those kinds of comments they made. I guess thats what I get only catching the last part.
  4. I must say I only caught the last 20 mins and I love it. After I get my BS in nursing I am going to medical school. It has always been a dream of mine. That show made me realize that everything I do and all the courses I take is for that goal. Just the thought that can be me...
  5. HI mugwump I am starting my pre-reqs also this summer and it would be nice to have to someone to talk to. I am 20 years old and I have a 2 1/2 son...who is the reason for everything I do. I am pretty nervous, I have been to another community college and it didn't stick with it and I also started a medical assisting program and didn't finish. So right now I am trying to stick with doing my pre-reqs and not giving up at this new school. thanks for listening
  6. Hi this summer I am taking Intro to algebra so it shouldn't be to bad...but I hate math anyway. Good luck
  7. I am a pre-nursing student and this thread keeps me laughing. One day I will a have a story...
  8. I was just talking to a friend of mine's mom and I was telling her my plans. She works as a teacher at U of M in minneapolis and she told me with a BSN in nursing I could go to Medical school. Being doctor is still alive dream in me, and I'm only 20 years old. So how knows maybe after I get my BSN I will go ahead to Medical school. Thanks everybody for your input from the twin cities
  9. Thanks for the feedback. I was curious about a man's view. But I think I want to do the PA anyway. I talk to the Dr.'s at the hosp. I volunteer at and they say NP do have more independent but PA's is the closest thing to medical school than a NP course ( it just doesn't come close) They respect NP input but PA's have a different look on things b/c of the way they were taught. I respect both professionals but I think PA is for me thank again Tony :)
  10. I was wondering if any of you guys thought about going for your PA. I talk to the woman in my forum and all of them wants to go on to NP. I want to be a PA b/c I always wanted to go to Medical school. So I feel PA is best thing to it. The woman kind made it seem like PA was for a man and NP was for a woman. Kind of studid if you ask me I know being in the RN or LPN you are surround by woman who don't think you should be there. Just wondering if you would be more comfortable as a PA? Thanks from the twin cities
  11. Hey pat I agree with you the NP is a "softer" course compared to a PA course. I volunteer at a hosp in minneapolis and I brought this topic to them doing lunch. And the NP's agree about what you said. Both is great professions but one is just in-depth though medince than another. Nothing wrong with that in my book. I guess if people want more than they need to go to med school....just my thought on this topic wish every luck from the twin cities
  12. I did think that...sorry....But it was funny!
  13. I'm pre-nursing left too
  14. All I can say is Congrats on your letter and take a deep breath. I will be just starting my pre-reqs this summer. Good luck
