Math
I believe I once stated that I am not a math person, but someone told me nursing wasn't all that math orientated... I went through the directory of the college I want to go to and the only Math Class I seen for nursing was college algebra. So here are my questions: What is College Algebra the equivilent to compared to highschool courses? Alebra 1, Algebra 2, a mix of both plus more complicated stuff? I never took any Advanced math (no trig)... So what exactly are you learning about math in nursing school? Proportions? Conversions? Measurements? None of these things seem difficult to me as long as the Math don't get too in depth. What are the hardest math problems that come along? Thanks for any and all replies.. also my email [email protected] is down, but my email [email protected] is working... again thanks so much you guys/gals are great help.. David

Benefits of Travel Nursing?
What do you all consider the benefits of becoming a Travelling Nurse? I've lived in the same spot for 18+ years never moving out of the same town, but I've had the opportunity to Travel all over, including Idaho, Washington, Utah, California, Colorado, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Florida and Wyoming... I love every new place I get to visit except wyoming, that state seemed to "roll" on forever with very little to see... :chuckle At any rate being a Travelling Nurse seems like something that would fit me and I was just wondering for those of you who Travel what are your expenses? I know some agencies pay housing, but what exactly do you pay for? Do you Make quite a bit more money travelling rather then the latter? Also I don't want to travel forever, but it seems like a good way you could save up quite a lot of money starting out and then have a nice chunk to settle down with a couple years down the road... anyone have any opinions or suggestions? Thanks

CRNA for me?
Is CRNA worth all the education spent to get it? It sounds like an interesting job and there seems to be plenty need for them out there. My Uncle who has been a Surgical RN for a long time want to be an Anesthetisioligst and Said he finds that field more interesting than just being an RN, I think hes drained. I wanted to be a Doctor, but The main reason I didn't do that route is the shear amount of school, Isn't a CRNA about 7 years of school total? 4 years for the BSN and then 3 for the actually CRNA? Thats a lot of schooling! Are there any perks?

where are the nursing shortages?
I have a question for ya'all. I'm just out of Highschool getting ready to go into college for a BSN in Nursing... I've always wanted to do something in the Medical Field, and was lured to nursing by the fact that there are so many "nursing shortages" or so I've heard. Should I continue with my route and become an RN or do something else? Admin told me the shortages will only get worse as time goes by... but I'm beginning to wonder. It's hard enough to find a good job without a college degree... spending all that time to get and one and not being able to find work would be a HUGE slap in the face.... David
