Comment below your points if you are applying to the Summer 2018 nursing cohort at UNLV

Hi everyone! I have 92.4 points also and this would be my second time applying. I'm super nervous because I might not have enough points to get in for the summer. Should I retake some classes??

I'm not applying yet but I want to know how UNLV is?! I'm stationed at Nellis and my goal is to apply as pre nursing when I get out of the Air Force. How hard were the pre reqs? Are there an insane amount of pre nursing students? I know the cut off score for last semester was really high. What are your thoughts??

Im applying with a 94.46 after retaking biol 251. I had a 92.4 or something like that before retaking the course.

I would fersure retake some classes at a 92.4, im guessing the cut off will be at least a 93

I agree a 92 might be risky but if you feel good about it then do it.

Hi vet2bsn ")...im glad you decided to be an rn! The pre-reqs are not hard but u do have to put in the time to study to get a good grade and ask for help if something does not make sense which i didnt do in the beginning so i had to retake some classes, but overall not so bad. And yes there are a lot nursing students which is making it a little bit harder to get in. As long as u get A's, maybe one B, and do really good on the hesi u should be fine.

Hey guys ! I am taking my Hesi in January. How is it ? I'm super nervous ! I have not calculated my points yet but will be applying with mostly B's in my science courses. I still have to take micro and nursing 299 this coming spring.

The hesi isnt that bad but the subject i strugggled with was grammer. A lot of the questions had to do with which sentence was correct. The reading comprehension was just reading the paragraph and answering questions. For the math, atleast for me, there was alot of fractions and ratios. Also make sure you know the equivalency tables on the hesi book because i got like maybe 6 questions. Know like pounds to ounces or inches to centimeters or cups to liters, dont worry to much on the ones that say tons to ounces or whatever it might be. For the anatomy portion it was mostly broad but some where specific. Like wat neuron does what in the cns or something like that. I studied for that part from my lecture powerpoints but others have said they study from their lab manuals and that was enough for them. Hope this helps.

Im doing UNLV too and am taking the hesi in Jan maybe feb. I'm trying to find someone like a study group...if anyone is up for it. I spent a lot of timein the writing lab at UNLV this past summer but I need refersher so I'm hoping I can find someone who I can share resourcefulness with and pass the hesi :) Theres a 24 hour starbucks that just opened in front of my house a month or two ago so transportation isn't realy an issue with me and we'll always have wifi and I have a mini white board.

Hey everyone, I'll be applying this Summer as well. I thought I would share this document I made to calculate my UNLV points.

You can either download the file or make a copy. Hope it helps.
