Hi all, wondering if anyone is applying to the nursing program at UNLV for spring 2014? This kills me to ask; but if so, how many points do you have and what makes you want to be a nurse? Good luck to all those hopeful nurses out there☺☺☺
I am feeling the same way. I can't see it raising another 2 points in one semester. Just gotta stay positive. A friend of mine got in the summer missing two classes, and another friend talked to an advisor this week that told her it can go up or even down depending on the applicant pool. :)
I guess I should introduce myself. My full name is Jacqueline, but I go by Jax. I just transferred to UNLV from southern California in hopes to enter UNLV's nursing program in the spring (fingers crossed!). I am taking NURS 299 right now, but I think I have enough points to start in the spring. I am interested in nursing because I think medicine is fascinating, I like the variety that the field offers, and, of course, I want to help people.
Does anyone know what specialties they're leaning towards? I think going through the rounds will really be the deciding factor, but I am leaning towards working in the OR.
Nice to meet you Jax! I'm Diana, the OR sounds interesting. I am thinking the ER sounds exciting and will be an opportunity to see a little bit of everything. I am looking forward to trying different things in the program. Did you take chem 108 at unlv? That is where I saw chemistry cat.

Well, when I applied for the fall admissions I was missing Anatomy & Physiology 2, so I was a little confused about how to do the calculations with a missing class. I think my points were about 86-87 though. I called the Nursing School when I did not get accepted and they also told me the cutoff was 90.something. I hope it does not go up for spring admissions. Even though the school has consistently been getting more competitive every semester, I would be really shoked if the cutoff rose 2 points or more.....anything can happen though.
