UNLV NURSING FALL 2020 COHORT

Published

Hey guys! I noticed there's no forums on unlv nursing for fall 2020 cohort. Wondering where we all stand for this application cycle so we can all get an idea of the points applying. I stand at a 96.5. I am hoping that is good enough because I was told it's gotten more competitive lately. If you post, please post your points as well or your predicted points just so we all have an idea ? good luck to everyone and stay safe out there!

Also, if the testing sites did not email you a cancellation notice, then you should be golden. I can't even schedule the HESI. I've been having problems with it for as long as I can remember. I hope there's a way to at least take proctored exams from home. That would be great.

"In accordance with the changing local governance and advice from the CDC and WHO we have determined it necessary to further extend the closure of test centers in the U.S. and Canada through May 31st. This applies to all testing programs, with the exception of a limited set of essential services programs. These closures WILL NOT be reflected in the list below."

This was on the prometric website. I wonder how they will alternatively calculate points.

I heard that UNLV nursing is opening a second degree track for those who already graduated with another degree, but have the nursing pre-reqs. They are not using HESI calculation in that pathway because it doesn't require a HESI. I guess they will perhaps use that as a guide? Just speculating, I'm an over thinker haha!

scheduled to take mine May 21st, finally! How in depth are the skeletal and muscle parts? Should I study cranial nerves?

Hey there! I hope this reaches everyone in good health.

Do any of you know how they're going to be handling the HESI exam? I'm scheduled to take it May 22 and I'm worried the testing facilities will stay closed.

Do any of you guys have the same worries? Has anyone reached out to Promteric/Elsevier to see if they're going to be doing anything to make sure they're open, especially during the application season? Have you reached out to UNLV? The SoN page only has information about testing for students that are already in the program, not for those waiting to apply.

I emailed the advising center and I'm expecting an answer within the week, if there's anything helpful I'll post it here.

I just scheduled my test for May 21st. The testing center opened May 1st, and is deemed essential. So, don't worry. You will be able to test. I am so nervous. What are you using to study? We might end up seeing each other this fall ?

I’m trying to take my HESI again, but can’t seem to find a slot. Did your guys Appointments gets cancelled? Or are you having trouble finding a day?

I have two different workbooks that I’ve been going through since about January, plus some anatomy flash cards so I stay well practiced! Good luck on your exam! I hope we DO get to see each other!

Maybe try giving Prometric a call if you haven’t? My guess is they may not have any more slots because they had to take everyone that was supposed to take it in March/April and threw them into any May slots + they might have to do limited seating in capacity for each exam time for social distancing.

Hi all I am applying this fall. Does anyone know if they are using an updated Calculation Worksheet?

Just wondering because the calculation worksheet I have was updated in 2018. So I’m wondering if they are using a different one. I Also heard about chem 108 being part of the attempts scores?

Just got word that the deadline for Fall 2020 is move to July 31st.

Wonder when we're supposed to apply then
