Hello, I just finished the interview for the Feb 21 cohort and wanted to connect with other applicants. I live in Bend, Oregon, anyone else out there?

Hi - I'm just looking for some input about those of you who are in the program at UW OshKosh. I have been accepted to a couple of other nursing schools but am really interested in OshKosh's program. Any insight you can give me on the program would be greatly appreciated! Good teachers? For clinicals, are they spread throughout the program or towards the second half of the program? Do you arrange your times for clinicals with the clinical supervisor where you get placed? Would love to hear your thoughts on the program! Thanks
Hello! I just graduated this past Fall. All clinicals take place the second half of the program. The clinical coordinator essentially works with the unit manager to pair you up with a preceptor nurse. Your clinicals will be the same schedule as your preceptor. There could be a little wiggle room in certain situations but I would not count on it. I thought the teachers were good, however what I really liked about the program was that it’s all online—so you can focus on content you need to study, and minimize effort on less relevant pieces—-as opposed to being stuck in a classroom with no ability to pause, take a break, speed it up, skip, etc.

Are the tests proctored? With webcam or the use ATI proctored tests?
How many days of clinical ?
Do you go to class everyday?

Hi how are you? Are the tests proctored with webcam. And the lecture are recorded or you have to meet online with the instructors through zoom or live?
The tests are not proctored, the lectures are all audio recorded online, there are group projects that will require specific meetup times(that you arrange with classmates in the same group). Occasionally there might be a specific time you have to listen or participate live—but I don’t remember that happening often. Ther

Do you prefer reading etextbooks or physical ones?
I have been able to work part time just one day a week but it has been enough for me. I do know of some other classmates who have less responsibilities and work a couple days a week. For me, it has been hard to work and schedule clinical days because to have to be juggling with uncertainty of dates if your clinical placement are not on top of it.
Do not quit your job though. I guess is a requirement now to work where you want or get placed for clinicals.
