  1. I have one year ER experience as a nurse and am moving to the SF Bay area and wondering which hospital is more recommended to work at, San Francisco General or Highland Hospital. I'd like to be in a level one trauma center that I can work my way up to becoming a trauma nurse. Has anyone worked at or knows about both emergency departments? Who gets sicker patients? Where would I get better experience or any general advice anyone may have regarding both hospitals.
  2. The tests are not proctored, the lectures are all audio recorded online, there are group projects that will require specific meetup times(that you arrange with classmates in the same group). Occasionally there might be a specific time you have to listen or participate live—but I don’t remember that happening often. Ther
  3. No problem, if you have any more questions, let me know! If (when) I pass the NCLEX on the 19th— I will start working in the ER on the 25th.
  4. Hello! I just graduated this past Fall. All clinicals take place the second half of the program. The clinical coordinator essentially works with the unit manager to pair you up with a preceptor nurse. Your clinicals will be the same schedule as your preceptor. There could be a little wiggle room in certain situations but I would not count on it. I thought the teachers were good, however what I really liked about the program was that it’s all online—so you can focus on content you need to study, and minimize effort on less relevant pieces—-as opposed to being stuck in a classroom with no ability to pause, take a break, speed it up, skip, etc.
  5. Hello RebeccaCocoa: I worked 1 12 hour shift per week. Some people have worked more. During the first half of the program you have tests every other day, and you'll need to be flexible with you schedule once you start clinicals.
  6. Hello! What happened, did you get in? Would love to hear about your experience best, adam
  7. Hi Courtney, sorry that you didn't get in, but at least you know why.. yes I work at a local hospital. If you get a job as a CNA I'm sure you will get in come May! Katie- I'll see you in late May! best, Adam
  8. well its a little late, but I wanted to update that I got in? Anyone else want to share their experience? Best, Adam
  9. Oops I meant October 9th- I believe we should have an answer by this Friday!
  10. Hey Courtney, Sorry it took so long to reply. I'm hoping we hear by the end of next week, have you heard anything or connected with any other applicants? Its taking sooooo long! I chose Oshkosh because its the only BSN I can attend without moving, and it has an excellent reputation.
  11. Hi Courtney, nice to meet you! I thought the process was pretty smooth although maybe a bit delayed by Covid. They told me decisions would be made 4-6 weeks after the last interview on December 6th. I hear nothing but good things about the program from other people I work with so that’s a plus!
  12. Hello, I just finished the interview for the Feb 21 cohort and wanted to connect with other applicants. I live in Bend, Oregon, anyone else out there? Adam Travis CNA, ER Tech
