Hello everyone!
I was wondering if there is anybody applying to UWF FNP Program for this Fall 2024?
I would love to connect. Thank you!
@BelyRN Hi unfortunately I dropped out of the program after the first week. It was just not the right fit for me. My first classes were a EBP class and Advance pharmacology. Going in I was expecting some form of pre recorded lecture. After seeing how the pharm class was I decide to apply to different schools. I am not sure how the additional classes were but when I reached out to my assigned advisor she told me that's a question I needed to ask the professors. I didn't want a program where I am expected to just read, do discussions then go do an exam and graduate with a degree that makes me responsible for diagnosis and medical management.
I currently work in a busy Internal medicine clinic triaging patients. I am a single mom of two ages 10 and 8 but I am confident that I can be successful I just have to find a program that satisfies my most important requirements.
I have applied to a few other schools which I've been accepted in and waiting to here back from frontier university which also provides recorded lectures and skills check off on campus.
Wish you all the best wherever you decide to go.
@Sherine Samuels Wow! I'm so glad I asked! This is exactly what I was fearing. Some people are OK with that type of learning platform and get through it fine but like I said I had an awful experience with WGU sounds like a very similar program structure. I do not do well in those kinds of do it all yourself type of programs. I have also looked into Frontier, I applied this week. The other school I was considering was Sacred Heart University. They have a great scholarship they are offering right now for NPs that want to focus on working in underserved communities or Rural communities. You do 2 campus visits there as well just like Frontier. I wouldn't even be considering them if it wasn't for the scholarship, since it is $995/credit which is more than I was willing to go. That's why UWF was so appealing to me but it doesn't seem to be a good fit for me. Thank you for your quick response! DM me if you want to let me know where you decide to go, I still would love to have a motivational partner or someone to at least bounce things off of throughout this journey!
Does anyone know how competitive this program is? I worry about admission when my GPA is not very great. I'm really hoping to get in and very anxious for this admission decision coming this week or next, especially considering it was tough for me to get into my RN program years ago. Wishing good luck to everyone who has applied!

Heyyy....I am thinking of applying to Fall 2024 FNP program. This is such a difficult decision especially since they wait until mid-July to let you know if you got accepted or not so I feel like I have to apply to other schools as well. Any feedback regarding the reasons why you decided to apply? I have heard mixed reviews about the program with having issues finding clinical sites and teaching yourself most of the material which I understand is mainly like all other online programs but I am wondering if the instructors give support and care about your success. I had an awful experience at WGU for my bachelor's. Any information anyone can provide me would be greatly appreciated!! I am a FT Nurse Case Manager for a managed care insurance plan working from home with 3 sons, (18, 12, 2) also a single mom. I really want to move forward with this but I am so afraid of failing. Thanks in advance!
