  1. Does anyone know how competitive this program is? I worry about admission when my GPA is not very great. I'm really hoping to get in and very anxious for this admission decision coming this week or next, especially considering it was tough for me to get into my RN program years ago. Wishing good luck to everyone who has applied!
  2. This first orientation, at least from what I remember from my own 2 years ago, is to go over the packet and clarify all of the information provided. They will be going over the health information they need. When I went, everything that was needed by the first orientation was listed in the acceptance packet. I don't have one sitting in front of me, so I can't tell you what exactly you need. I know that we had to bring money for badge reels and lunch that's provided at the second orientation. This orientation is pretty much a general information session for accepted and alternates. Hope this helps! í ½í¸Š
  3. So for everyone who's still reading posts on this forum... I am a nursing student going into nursing 4 and I am the treasurer of our FNSA (Florida Nursing Student Association) at PSC. The other officers and I have already created the class Facebook page for you all and we will give you the information at either the upcoming orientation or the one after that. We will be attending both orientations to introduce ourselves to you all. I strongly suggest you join the Facebook page that we created, because it is a good way to not only stay in the loop with your classmates, but also to stay in the loop with the goings-on in the nursing program, as the officers post updates every now and then. That being said, congratulations to everyone who has been accepted and we look forward to meeting you all!
  4. I know FNSA started a Facebook page for my class and I think the class before so if you start one now you'll have 2 like we do lol
  5. Last semester a lot of alternates made it in so don't lose hope! Congrats to everyone who made it in :) is there a second orientation for accepted students towards the start of the semester? I'm gonna try and be there f I can if there is
  6. I was stuck at school until 6:30 the day mine came but the first chance I got I took a special trip home! Needless to say I couldn't focus in my class later that day because I was reading my packet my packet came about a week before the paper said it would, by the way, so hopefully that eases some of the anxiety!
  7. Special designators says "passing TEAS scores, nursing applicants future" but above that it says "program status: active, pgm admit status: Y". Hope that helps!
  8. I don't think Passport updates your major until you've accepted the seat officially. It might wait as long as it takes to get all of the medical work completed. Sorry to disappoint, guys! Hopefully you find out this week for sure!
  9. Good luck everybody! I applied and was accepted for Spring semester. It was almost two weeks to the day that I got my letter! I had an overall GPA of 3.1, program GPA of 3.3 (around there), an 80 on TEAS, and an AA from HCC. I know I calculated about 112 points or something like that. Not waitlisted at all I was straight accepted. If you look at the Spring 2017 thread it may ease your anxiety. I know it helped mine! Good luck to you all again!
  10. When it comes to Pasco Hernando, they have 3 campuses you can apply for in the Fall. However, students living in those counties are given priority over students say in Hillsborough or Pinellas. Polk State College is a smaller school in Lakeland/Winter Haven, which is one of the many schools I applied to. I was admitted for this Spring term and I had a 3.4 and an 80 on my TEAS. They do not give Polk County students priority and let us know if we got in 2 weeks after the application deadline. Good luck to you all!
  11. Thank you :) Good luck!
  12. Just got my email, and it's the same as when I applied for the Fall: my application was not complete. It would be nice if they let me know this earlier so that I don't anticipate the email regarding whether I got in or not. I'm not sure what I'm missing. I'm guessing it's the reading requirement, but I sent them my SAT scores, so I don't know. It's ok, because I got into another school, so I'll be going there for Spring. Good luck to everyone who got in and the alternates!
  13. I still haven't heard anything. I'm guessing it's going to be a "no" though, because even though all of my prerequisites are done, my GPA isn't that great, and I'm out of county. I'm guessing if I had gotten in I would've heard from now.
  14. Congrats! When did you get your email? I don't have anything yet
