Good morning!
So I'm going to try this whole process over again, as a repeat offender...I mean applicant for UW's BSN program 2014. I applied last year, made it through the proctored essay portion but was not accepted. After nursing (haha) my wounds w/ large amounts of ice cream, chocolate & such, I've recently found my mojo to try again. Anyone else re-applying or 1st time applying for 2014? I know it's extremely early in the game, but those deadlines come up faster than you think! I've saved all the tips applicants that have applied more than once and hope that 2nd time is the charm.
Anyone else out there getting ready for it? We got this
For the electronic submission, we just email it directly to the sonas address right? I was checking to see if there was any place to upload to PDF, but I don't see one.
I did NOT put an objective on my resume. Just went with what they asked for. In the info sessions, they were so adamant about doing things *exactly* like they want.
A bit of a freak out now. Post office said when I mailed it the other day it should be there on the 14th (I sent it priority). Checking it today, it left the sorting facility in Seattle but expected delivery is 16 January...??? Grrrr. I could have driven it up there myself and delivered it. Now I just have to hope for the best.
My stats are really a bit all over the place. I have a BA in English and I think my undergrad GPA overall was somewhere in the 3.2 or 3.4 area. For pre-reqs, I have a 4.0. I don't have that much experience - 433 hours as a CNA, 504 hours as a volunteer EMT at the fire department, and 2 hours as a volunteer clinical assistant at a free clinic.
UW is honestly at the bottom of my list for schools. They are probably the most expensive for me for the outcome. I applied to two MSN programs that are more expensive, but they will get me to my ultimate goal (FNP) faster.
WSU is the only other BSN program I am applying to. Someone told me that veterans get 1/2 off tuition there if they've been deployed. If that's true, and I get in there, that's definitely a good bargain in my book.

Me too :) gotta mail in all my stuff tomorrow! Excited & extremely nervous. For the resume did you put an objective or just start out with their 1st required section?
