Good morning!
So I'm going to try this whole process over again, as a repeat offender...I mean applicant for UW's BSN program 2014. I applied last year, made it through the proctored essay portion but was not accepted. After nursing (haha) my wounds w/ large amounts of ice cream, chocolate & such, I've recently found my mojo to try again. Anyone else re-applying or 1st time applying for 2014? I know it's extremely early in the game, but those deadlines come up faster than you think! I've saved all the tips applicants that have applied more than once and hope that 2nd time is the charm.
Anyone else out there getting ready for it? We got this
I was just told that I'm about to be admitted so I should get going on my compliance list. I'm still waiting to hear about the BSN! I work full time so I'm hoping for the BSN so that I can continue to work part time. I believe that a friend of mine was #10 two years ago and he was admitted eventually to the BSN but at that point he had already committed to Emory in Atlanta. Your chances are good!
For the 2014 graduating cohort (started in 2012): they let 9 students off the wait-list. (I had a friend that was originally #10 and did not get in). The student who was #9 on the wait-list was admitted literally on our 2nd day of orientation!!! So, it can happen really late. ^_^
*Keep in mind, of course, that every year is different and there is no way to guess how many students will be admitted from the wait-list!
Posting the 2014 stats from the UW admissions blog here (because the next cohort always wants to know butthey only leave the info up for limited time)
The UW School of Nursing received 476 applications for 96 spots, so we are unfortunately unable to admit every applicant:
96 applicants were offered admission
15 were placed on the waitlist
365 were denied admission

RDuPs, I am also a postbac student. My BA is in English from many years ago I'm doing a total career change and it's been a blast so far.
Just_Keep_Swimming, last summer I checked on my waitlist status every few weeks. Don't lose faith -- people get busy and decide to do something else. Another commenter on here has already decided to drop off the waitlist. So you see, it moves.

Thank you so much! Were you able to get in off the wait list?
