University of Washington's BSN program 2014

Published

Good morning!

So I'm going to try this whole process over again, as a repeat offender...I mean applicant for UW's BSN program 2014. I applied last year, made it through the proctored essay portion but was not accepted. After nursing (haha) my wounds w/ large amounts of ice cream, chocolate & such, I've recently found my mojo to try again. Anyone else re-applying or 1st time applying for 2014? I know it's extremely early in the game, but those deadlines come up faster than you think! I've saved all the tips applicants that have applied more than once and hope that 2nd time is the charm.

Anyone else out there getting ready for it? We got this :D

Brooke... Did you send your electronic application in via a different e-mail than what is in the paper application? My paper application has my personal e-mail but I sent the electronic application from work and I just got my essay invite via my work mail. Maybe it's in another email inbox?

Oh Brooke, I'm so very sorry!!

Thanks, honestly I am shocked. I had great grades, LPN experience, a great essay and recommendation. I don't really understand.

I really thought you were a definite yes, especially with all of your experience!

Yeah, I don't really understand it. I'm not getting my hopes up for SU. I might be throwing in the towel.

I'm sorry Brooke. I was rejected from my top choice too. I spent about a half a day feeling miserable about it, but I started to research plans B, C, D, and on immediately. That was only a week ago and I still don't know if I will re-apply next year if something doesn't pan out. In any case, as hard as it might be, try not to take it personally. All of these programs are competitive, and even great candidates get bad news sometimes.

Keep applying... ADN's are worth it too... get started. If you have good grades and experience then you are super competitive at the CommColl's. I have met some really great people at my school.

Thanks for the inspiration but CC as just/possible more completive. Most colleges allow a direct transfer for there LPN programs to there LPN-RN bridge program as long as they are in good standing. This leaves little room for LPN transfer students. I really don't want to start over and apply to a traditional ADN program.

Brooke I'm so sorry! You were a competitive applicant, there just might have been something missing or out of order=( my friend was rejected because she didn't get her transcript on time. There are plenty of good programs, yes cc is I think more competitive because alot base off grades soley and don't even look at experience or essays. You will be a great nurse. And there are many routes! =)

Anicka - I'm sorry it was your top school! Do you mind sharing which school you wanted? That's a good attitude to have, dont give up and keep trying ^^

Mabye u guys should consider some cc. Some schools are point sysyem like shoreline, walla walla, and Lwtc. Highline and Tacoma are based an a loterry ticket to get in but you have to get s 3.0 in all class. My friend told me to consider doing the lpn route.
