University of Washington (UW) Fall 2019 DNP

Published

Hello! I noticed there hasn't been a thread created for applicants of the DNP program at UW for this coming fall and wanted to start one, so we all have some support as we're waiting for the results.

I applied to the AGAC track ? How about everyone else? If anyone else has any helpful information regarding the program or acceptance rate please share!

Will you be doing FNP or AGNP?

Leaning towards FNP now. ?

Anyone on the wait list for AGNP-AC? Or anyone accepted who wants to decline ? Not so patiently waiting for my spot to open.....#8, so I'm a total maybe.... hahahaha!

Congrats to those that are in! Also, when do you have to tell them that you accept or decline? (Asking for a friend of course!)

The 20th, good luck, I’ve heard they let quite a few in off the waiting list.

Thanks for letting me know! Waitlist acceptance is also due on the 20th, so that makes sense. I am not giving up hope, I figure if it’s supposed to happen this year it will! You all must be so excited!!! (Because I am still excited they didn’t just say “No”!)

Heard anything yet? Do you have to pay money for the waitlist acceptance?

I have not...I am really hoping to hear something shortly after the 20th? I figure that’s when they will start talking to the wait list folks as people decline or don’t turn in their acceptance. I am resigned to applying again next year as I think it’s a long shot...but trying to stay positive!

Oh and no, you don’t have to pay until you are accuty accepted

did anyone else receive a call from their track lead? I am at work on a short break but I am very impressed and can’t wait to meet you all!

I did, @mustlovedogs31! I received a call from Sarah Matthews, the FNP lead. I thought it was great that she was open to all questions! I liked that she cared to talk to us one on one to answer any concerns.

I share the same sentiment:) Did you get to chat? Do you plan on working part time? I’m wondering how intense the program is right off the bat.

I got a call from FNP faculty as well (not the lead). She was very nice and extremely helpful. I'll be planning on working part time (approx. 20 hours) to hopefully avoid student loans.

I'm in a few housing groups on facebook for the area. Do any of you have any good recommendations on where to live in Seattle?

I'll most likely be commuting to JB Lewis-McChord once per month (USAFR).

I was looking at living in Capitol Hill for the experience (I'll be getting a housing stipend from the GI Bill), but not sure how much I'll actually get out between working part time and school.

Excited to meet everyone! The faculty I spoke with said it'll be around 100 total in the DNP programs, 28 (+/-) in FNP.

I live in Fremont and I love it in terms of activities and commuting. It is close to UW and getting on I-5 and 99. Lots of places to eat and go out as well as being close to Ballard, Queen Anne and Fremont. I do think Capitol hull is fun.
