U.S.A. Washington

Anyone applying to the UW SoN for fall 2013? Anyone else FREAKING OUT about it like I am?

Hey guys, did you all buy this book? It's optional whether to have it or not, so I decided not to buy it yet.

To the second year nursing students: Is this investment worth it, or can we do without it?

As a 2nd year I suggest you use anything they suggest for patho, it will be the most stressful class you take and the professors rely on your text for testing and quizzing.

Also, be sure to stop by the SoN BBQ Sept 19th right after orientation it is a welcome for you guys and there will be a lot of nursing school people from various levels of the school as well as 2nd year BSN students who will know what you are about to experience. If you had summer orientation come by as well this is for you guys too!

Anyone have recommendations regarding textbooks--do professors require you to have new textbooks, did you find that newer versions were much more helpful than the older versions?

Just wondering if anyone was wait-listed last year make it into the program? I re-applied this year & I'm #10 on the list, just trying to gauge my chances. I appreciate anyone's help, & trying not to look at it as a bad thing :) it's not a No! But it is probably a very slim maybe ;)

I wasn't waitlisted last year, but I know around four people dropped the program within the first week, so thre is always a chance! Hope you make it in. Its hard. As hell. Put pretty fun.

I'm not sure they'll let me in that late :/ thanks for the info!!

You never know! Just hope that more people drop by then. I almost dropped to go to johns Hopkins instead, but decided to stick in Washington.

I was waitlisted at #9 last year. During the summer, I moved up the list until I was #1. By early Sept, I was still #1 and they asked me to complete all the compliance requests so that I'd be ready to enroll if a spot opened up. It wasn't until the day before the fall orientation that they said, "Sorry, this isn't going to work out this year". Hang in there. There's a good chance people will decide to go to other schools or get pregnant or move away, etc etc.

Unfortunately, the people that dropout after Orientation don't help. They have closed the wait-list by then (In 2012, we had one person, #9, admitted off the wait-list on the 1st day of orientation). But, during the first week of class we had 1 student drop out and go to Hawaii after deciding it just wasn't for her - but that didn't help the poor soul that could have had her spot. Seriously unfortunate. But, we are all rooting for your success!!!!

Hi JLoya can you tell me anything about the program? pros and cons and do you need a car?

Hey there.

Does the UW require a foreign language for transfer students?
