Anyone applying to the UW SoN for fall 2013? Anyone else FREAKING OUT about it like I am?

Somehow I was accepted,lol!

I accepted you into the group.

I just requested to join the FB group too. Last name McInerney

Have you guys received any info regarding HIPAA training yet?

I didn't get the HIPAA Training email yet. Anh said if she doesn't send it before August 5 (Compliance Documents deadline), then it wouldn't be due by that time.

Ohh I see. Thank you TheNursingStudent!!

You're welcome!

Are you all ready for this to start!?! Is the anticipation killing you? Get it out of your system early... If you're a student get your tickets to Husky Football!!! If you love football you can get a season pass for $99, which includes Apple Cup here this year. Otherwise it is $20 per game and you are guaranteed a seat in the Dawg Pack. I am no young spring chick, but I loved being in the environment last year when it was at Century Link Field.

One additional piece of advice (for those who are new to UW), take FULL ADVANTAGE of campus and school activities while you can... You will ave no life outside of the T-Wing. I was sort of sad that I missed out on an amazing campus and some fun stuff to do...

If you like to exercise, even just a LITTLE bit, use the IMA!!! It's FREE and AMAZING!!! Again I am no spring chick but I felt comfortable working out there. Some people felt intimidated by working out with some "very healthy" 20-somethings. Use the pool, racquetball courts, tennis courts, CLIMBING WALLS!!!, indoor track, and weight room. For those who dont like the intimidation of the BIG weight room, there are some machines and dumbell weights up to 50# in the top floor area. There are treadmills and ellipticals on the north end and weight machines and free weights on the south end.

The HUB is beautiful and has CHEAP bowling (Seattle and the surrounding areas lack bowling alleys anymore), pool tables and for the gamers and cool lil video game set-up. Appreciate the Arts, I was a jazz musician back in the day and wanted to go to some events at Meany Hall, alas I missed them. The HUB also provides quiet and serene studying areas. I recommend above the 3rd floor on the south end. Its quiet and no one usually goes there.

Take advantage of the Waterfront Aquatics center now while the weather is nice... For UW students the canoe rentals are $5 an hour and they don't charge you per person. Grab a 6-pack, pack a picnic and have fun with some people...

Create a "Group Therapy" location for after your Friday lectures. It was a long week (each week), we decided to use the College Inn pub for laughs and release. Not everyone drinks, that's fine. Have a soda, shoot some pools and throw some darts. The main point, get to know and enjoy your cohort.

I will be helping out during the orientation so come with questions. There will be an opportunity to ask us questions without school administration in the room and they allow us to be "BRUTALLY" honest.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the SoN lost the most amazing teacher ever. Vicky Hertig was the Parmacology teacher and she was offered a position at BCC. In her place will be an equally strong person. Margaret Heitkemper is AMAZING. You will see something familiar with that name when it comes to Winter Quarter, she co-authored the text you will use for your Care in Illness class.

Cheers and have fun....

Hey guys, I'm a little confused about the recent update of the tuition charge statement:

- With the total balance of what I have to pay (tuition being $3245.00), it says that my total credit hours is 8. Isn't it supposed to be 17 credit hours for this coming quarter?

We haven't been enrolled in the NCLIN classes yet

Touché... Thanks!

y'all should be enrolled in the remaining here very soon. We are waiting for our Clinical Course registrations also.

See you guys/gals at orientation....
