University of Washington BSN 2016

Hey Guys!

Didn't see anyone start one yet for this application round for UW nursing and though may as well start one.

Hopefully this will help everyone out that reads this, and that joins into the conversation.

Ive been reading the past BSN application posts, and already learned a lot of info!

Congrats to everyone who got accepted :) would you guys mind sharing your stats!

Congrats everyone! engelm, I guess I'll see you Monday in class.

I've heard the waitlist can be entirely used some years, but then others only 1-2 get in. It's unpredictable, but apparently the list can adjust pretty soon because the Intent to Register form is due 4/22.

My backup plan was to apply to Lake Washington Institute of Technology. They have a newer facility for their associate RN program and they start 3 separate cohorts each year. The applications for the 2nd and 3rd aren't due yet, so anyone that didn't get in you may want to take a look at their program.

If anyone is interested in my application stats you can message me privately and I'll be happy to share.

Hey guys,

I got my acceptance letter today! For those that were accepted, is mailing the 'Intent to Register Form' and the non refundable Building Access card payment form the only way to send them the forms, or is it possible to drop it off in person?

Hi everyone, I got accepted to UW too!

Psaya, good question. I'm going to go over my forms tonight. Let me know what you find out.

so exciting guys! :)

I got in! To be honest, I was expecting a denial. I have a 3.98 GPA, 2 years of experience volunteering at Evergreen, and 6 months working as a caregiver at a retirement home. I'm only 19 though and am graduating this year with my high school diploma and DTA, so I thought that might work against me. I was surprised to see that you have to commit so early, I thought we had until May 1st.

where is everyone located? no letter for me yet

For those still awaiting a response, I found that envelop is standard size (no manila envelope), but is very thick. For those accepted, please send in the registration admissions forms and money, like your intent, THIS WEEK, since it is due in a little over a week. If you have not received a letter, please check with the office ASAP, since the deadline to accept the offer is coming up very soon. There is also a checklist of items to also be completed in the packet sent to you, I believe. Make sure you complete everything. If any of this information is incorrect, please ask the Allnurses staff to modify or delete this post. If everything is correct, I'd appreciate if you quoted and replied to this saying so, which will also enable more people viewing this thread to see this information.

yup! All the things mentioned sounds just about right :)

I got accepted too! Annie I am also 19! I worked at a hospital for 8 months and accumulated over 1500 by doing a lot of extra shifts. My science GPA was around a 3.6 and my cumulative was around 3.85 . I had leadership experience as a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks and a ton of volunteer experience in the ER and at a special needs camp. I also thought my age would work against me since I am so young. Also although I currently attend UW and this is my 2nd year, I heard that they rarely accept Sophomores so it makes me even happier to be accepted!

I got in also! And I am NOT 18! Pretty sure I could be everyone's mom! I'm excited and terrified for this journey!

Hey guys. I got into UW as well! I also was accepted to SPU and SU, and am having a hard time deciding which to go to. In the end, I think I am going to choose SU. I have a friend who is in the UW nursing program, and a few coworkers in the SU nursing program! I have heard better things personally from them about SU, and also have toured the campus and think it is the right place for me. :) Great job everyone on getting accepted to UW, and I hope the best to all those that didnt! Dont let the rejection stop you from pursing a nursing degree! Is anyone else choosing SU over UW?

Daisey I got into SU, SPU, and UW as well. I was considering choosing SPU over UW because of the small class sizes and extra clinical time offered, but decided to choose UW for financial reasons. My husband also attends UW. I don't think SU would be a good fit for my husband and I with it's location and cost. Congrats on your admissions! This is all super exciting!!
