University of Toledo Graduate Entry CNL program

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

I recently applied to the University of Toledo Graduate Entry nursing program for those individuals with a non-nursing bachelor's degree to obtain their RN after successful completion of the NCLEX exam while also obtaining a MSN and a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) certification. I am patiently awaiting a decision and my anxiety is setting in so I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has applied to the same program or others? If so, have you heard anything? Are you willing to share credentials?

Omg! Yay, Rachel I am soo excited for you! I cant wait to start!

Hello deepu245,

We all applied to the graduate entry program at the university of Toledo. You do not have to have a healthcare background or experience although I think it looks better. But you have to have a BA or BS in something other than nursing. If you look at UTs website graduate entry cnl program it gives you all the information.

Thank you and I am glad that it ended up working out for the both of us! I am very excited to start as well, but I'm also super nervous lol. I can wait to get there, get started, and to meet everyone!

I know I am super nervous as well! Im even more nervous about my commute but im sure I will get used to it. Is anyone going to work during the program? Ive been debating on what to do, dropping down to one or two days or trying to just use loans. Also has anyone thought about what they would like to do after? NP, CRNA, etc...

I still haven't received any information regarding the program and how time consuming it will be, but I assumed that we would be kept busy and so I did not plan on working. As unfortunate as loans are, I'm sure I will have to take some out in order to help cover all of my expenses for the duration of the program. Does anyone know if it is a year round program, or are there breaks like with undergraduate programs? At first I was really interested in the going for the NP aspect but I wasn't sure what that included for years of schooling so I'm still undecided... Lol

Yeah I haven't received my information packet either but from my understanding it will be like we have a fulltime job and they suggest you do not work. I hate that I have to accrue more debt but its inevitable. But yeah I was thinking NP at first then I looked into crna but I am undecided as well and probably will be until we get through clinicals

Well thank you josalynwoodruff...I will definetly look at it.

Hi everyone! I will be attending in the fall and I am looking for a roommate. I found a really nice luxury living area that is very affordable for 2 bed/2 baths and it would be even cheaper if we split the rental costs. I do have a two lb yorkie who is potty trained and very sweet, so I'm looking for a pet friendly community and roommate :-D Please email me at [email protected] if you're interested. Thanks and congrats to all!

Can anyone who's been in this program tell me what the grading scale is like. I read you need a B in order to pass the classes. What percentage usually is a B for this nursing program?

Also, my degree is unrelated to sciences and I am not sure if that will pose a problem. I was wondering if you could share with me your experience with the program, any positives or negatives to the program.

thanks all!

Just checked my application status today and found out I have been accepted into the program for Fall 2016! Good luck to the rest of you all who have applied to the program!
