University of Texas Houston- Interview

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone, I just received an interview letter from UT Houston and I was wondering what to expect for the interview. The letter says that the interview will be in 2 parts: a writing sample- what is this about? An exam? What kind of questions should I expect? Thanks a lot in advance.

From what I can remember, the writing sample had a few questions, like do you know spanish, and some other weird things. Really that is the only one that stands out. It's not an essay or anything like that if that is what you might be afraid of. Just simple questions about yourself.

The interview for me was kinda like a job interview. You know questions about why you want go go here, describe yourself, situation where you showed leadership, yadda, yadda.

Good luck to you!

Ditto what eez28 said.....a questionnaire and typical interview. Just out of curiosity, are you applying for the accelerated program or traditional? I'm applying for the accelerated and interviewed a couple of weeks ago. The wait is so nerve wracking!!! Good luck!!!!

I recieved an interview too and am soo excited. It is my numero uno choice so as you can imagine I'm a bit anxious about the interview questions.

I'm applying for the traditional program. I'm so nervous and excited at the same time. How did your interview go? Good luck to you. Hopefully you'll hear something good from them soon.

Do you have to have a previous degree to be accepted into the accelerated program? Or do I have to go through the generic program?

I believe you have to have a previous degree to apply into the accelerated program. I'm applying for the generic program.

The interview went really well and was really relaxed and cordial. Don't get me wrong....I was stinkin' nervous, but they make it very comfortable. :)

Kendra - Yep, the accelerated is only for someone who already has a bachelors. Good luck to you too!

:anpom: I just recieved a call from my Mom telling me that UT left her a message that I have an interview on March 4th and to call them back. Apparently my letter was returned to them as having the wrong/ insufficient address.

I called and they confirmed that I do have an interview and will resend my letter and hopefully, I will get it this time. If I wasn't in my office right now I'd screammm. I applied late, took the NET at the last minute and have so-so GPA's. I did do very well on the NET and do have a prior BS but, I am sooooo... excited just to have an opportunity to even interview. Whoo Hooo! :D

Hey Everyone! Congratulations on ur interviews! well one of my classmates told me that UT is going in alphabetical order.. is that true?

Hmmm....I don't think so because of friend of mine with a "Z" last name interviewed before me. That was for the Bacc2 program. HTH!
