University of Texas Houston- Interview

Hi everyone, I just received an interview letter from UT Houston and I was wondering what to expect for the interview. The letter says that the interview will be in 2 parts: a writing sample- what is this about? An exam? What kind of questions should I expect? Thanks a lot in advance.

hey... i have my interview on march 3... i just wanted to know if there is anything else other than what is posted here that might help... thank god there is so no essay because that is what i was expecting.. but that is a relief....

Wheww... that part is over. Now the waiting game begins :(. When you arrive (they tell you to come a bit earlier than your appointment time) they will have you fill out a basic questionaire on what course you have left, ect. They also have a survey about computers which, is pretty long but, they are easy questions for someone who uses computers often. Then you will go back for a one-on-one interview. They ask some pretty standard questions. The whole process took maybe 45 minutes, if that long.

I am so glad it is over....goodness gracious, my tongue felt way too big for my mouth when I was being interviewed. Hopefully, I made a good impression, I really really really want in!!!!!!! I expected to write a short essay or something, it was so much more less intense than I thought.

I'm also glad they didnt make us do an essay that would have sucked! The way they present it on the website it seems as though you would have to do some sort of written essay.

CONGRATS!!!!!!! And best of luck to you. I just completed the Rn-BSN program at UT-H (and will be returning this upcoming Fall as a NP student because I liked it so much :D); I thoroughly loved the instructors and the course content. I'm certain as a generic student, your program will be quite different and the instructors are definitely different.

BTW...the name of the school is The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHSC-H)--you'll need to know this for the plethora o' papers and presentations you do throughout the program; some will expect you to add School of Nursing. Also, become intimately familiar with APA writing--buy the guide; I promise you it'll make your life easier.

Does anyone know if the interviewing process is over? Or are interview letters still being sent out?

I think that it is over..... but not sure they might interview you for the waiting list.... because the last time i talked to the school they said that it was a different process to be put on a waiting list
