University of Tennessee (UTHSC) Memphis Fall 2018

Published

Anyone apply to UT Memphis for Fall 2018? A lady there told me on Friday that they were in the midst of scheduling interviews. I haven't been contacted and am starting to get stressed...although of course I realize it's now the weekend.

This is a second career for me and I have a decent GPA (3.3) but nothing spectacular. Plus it's like 17 years old... I did get A's in my prereqs, except statistics which I am taking currently. Anyway, I'd love to hear from anyone else who's applied or is in school there! I've applied to University of Memphis as well. That application makes me even more nervous because they don't ask for anything except transcripts. I feel I have a better shot at UT because I have a pretty unique story and reasoning for becoming a nurse, plus what I hope are strong recommendations.

Anyone else religiously checking their email or am I the only one going crazy? Lol

The lady I emailed with told me "later on in March"... so I'm thinking it may be a couple weeks.

I JUST got an email! I got in!

I got accepted too!

Has anyone gotten an official acceptance letter or anything in the mail besides the first email?

I haven't received anything yet. I was hoping for atleast the email so we could get things moving along.

Was hoping for the same. I'll update as soon as I get anything else.

Hey everyone! I am moving from Portland, Oregon and have never been to Memphis.. I need to start thinking about my housing and was hoping that some of you who are from there may have some advice.

I would like to live close to school, a neighborhood that is safe, and pet friendly for my 14 year old lab. Maybe something near a park or something.

Are there neighborhoods or areas that anyone would suggest? Thank you so much!

Also I still haven't received anything in the mail yet, but I did get some more emails.

Hi, I got accepted into UTHSC for the fall 2018 accelerated program as well. Some good places to live that would be close to the school are midtown, north memphis, and maybe downtown but it's pretty expensive to live downtown or midtown. I would suggest talking to Ms. Osborn or Ms. Lu to see where some good SAFE areas might be. I live in north memphis and it isn't bad.

Also check out some of these apartment complexes: Legends Park Apartments, University Place, Uptown Square, and South Bluffs Apartments.

Thank you so much! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. Again, congratulations to everyone!
